YAMAHA has released firmware version 2.00 for its “CK61,” “CK76,” and “CK88” stage keyboards. This update expands live performance possibilities by introducing “Advanced Split Mode” for more flexible splits and layers, as well as new electric piano Voices and additional Live Set Sounds.
The highlight of this update, “Advanced Split Mode,” allows the keyboard to be divided into up to three distinct zones, with an individual key range assigned to each Part. This provides a high degree of flexibility when creating keyboard setups. For example, you can play a bass sound with your left hand and an electric piano in the center while layering a pad sound across the entire keyboard. Building on the existing split and layer functions, this feature enables more complex live setups on a single instrument.
Four new Voices have also been added to the electric piano category:
“74Rd Stage,” “67Rd Dark,” “67Rd Bright,” and “Wr Wide.” In addition, new Live Set Sounds, some of which use these new Voices, have been included, providing a versatile sound palette suitable for a wide range of musical genres.
While retaining the intuitive operation that defines the CK Series, this update further expands its sound-design and performance capabilities. CK61, CK76, and CK88 users can now take full advantage of these new sounds and performance features.
