Technics has unveiled the "SL-1200M7G," a special-edition model commemorating the 55th anniversary of the SL-1200MK turntable series. Sales will begin in mid-September, with worldwide production limited to 12,000 units.
The flagship "SL-1200M7GLN" model features an all-gold finish reminiscent of the "DMC Champion" models awarded to the winners of the global DMC DJ competition. The "SL-1200M7G" series is available in six limited-edition colors: a deep "Blue" inspired by quiet nights spent immersed in music; a lustrous "Red" reminiscent of theater curtains or red wine; a classic "Black" long favored in clubs; a refined "Gray" evoking stone architecture; a "White" inspired by pristine gallery spaces; and a turquoise-toned "Green," reminiscent of gemstones cherished around the world for centuries.
All models feature gold-colored components spanning from the tonearm to the headshell, along with a plate on the top panel engraved with the "Gold Edition" designation and a unique serial number. Specially designed accessories are also included, such as a slipmat featuring the gold Technics logo.
To commemorate the series' 55th anniversary, the SL-1200M7GLN is limited to 500 units in Japan, while the SL-1200M7G is limited to 100 units per color.
