I would like to introduce the new small USB microphones the CMU2 and the CMU3 from CLASSIC PRO.
There are various types of USB microphones from CLASSIC PRO, but these are the first lavalier microphones among them.
Let me introduce them to you right away!
Packaging
The packaging is a very simple design.

Inside is the microphone itself and a spec sheet.

The microphone comes with a windscreen and a microphone clip.
Both the windscreen and the microphone clip are removable. Please note that the microphone clip needs to be done with some force!
Adoption of USB Type-C terminal
The USB microphone features a USB Type-C terminal to meet the needs of the modern age.
This is the first USB microphone in the CLASSIC PRO lineup! It is compatible with a wide variety of devices.

This mic is compatible not only with Mac, Windows, and other computers equipped with a USB Type-C terminal, but also with iPhone 15 or later and Android.
This product can be used not only as a microphone for PCs, but also as a microphone for smartphones, making it useful in a variety of situations.
Small and Compact
The microphone is extremely small, measuring only about 1.5 cm in length!
It would be easier to describe it as being the size of an index finger rather than the size of the palm of your hand.

The following is a comparison of the CMU2 with a USB Type-C terminal, a standard pin microphone, and the CMU2, from left to right!
Being this small reduces the presence of the microphone, which is especially useful when shooting a video. It is much less noticeable when attached to black clothing.
Another attractive feature is its portability.
This is not a large piece of luggage and can be carried easily even when shooting while moving.
Differences between the CMU2 and CMU3
I have introduced the good points, but what is really the difference between CMU2 and CMU3? Which one should I choose? I would like to tell you about the sound of each.
The CMU2 and the CMU3 are equipped with different microphone capsules.
There is no difference in appearance, but the sound is completely different.
(As an aside, they look so much the same that you can't tell the difference without actually listening to the sound.... I taped them up so you can tell them apart!)
The CMU2 is the standard model and has slightly lower sensitivity. On the other hand, the CMU3 has a high-sensitivity microphone capsule and is more sensitive.
Although the CMU2 has lower sensitivity in terms of specs, the sound is softer and more comfortable to listen to; I felt that the sound recorded well enough compared to the iPhone's built-in microphone. The sound is natural and gentle.
My colleague who did the listening comparison test with me seemed to prefer the CMU2.
The CMU3 gave me the impression that I could hear the outline of each sound clearly. It also raises the sound level one step higher than the iPhone's built-in microphone.
If you want to record delicate sounds clearly, I recommend the CMU3.
The difference in sound level can be seen in the waveform.

The waveforms on the left are for CMU2 and on the right are for CMU3. It is easy to see the difference in this way!
To summarize
As I have explained so far, deciding on which one to choose ultimately depends largely on your usage environment and preference. However, as both are CLASSIC PRO products, there is no doubt that they offer amazing performance for the price.
I hope you will choose the most suitable one for you.
This is not the only USB microphone from CLASSIC PRO.

Well, how was it?
I'd be happy if I could convey the charm of Sound House’s new products to you.
It has been cold every day lately, and it is hard to get up in the morning. Please take care of yourselves, everyone.
I am working hard and enduring the cold every day, thinking that it is only after it snows that the real work begins.
Finally, please take a moment to be healed by looking at the snowman I worked so hard on, but it already melted by the next day.
