I recently came across a snare drum that’s become my new favorite, and I just have to recommend it to everyone!!

With its two white (or maybe cream?) lines combined with a silver shell, it has a stylish look that I love. Plus, it delivers a tight, punchy sound that’s really captivating!

This time, I’ll be doing an in-depth review of the "Duoluxe."

Bright and Tight Sound

The 1mm brass shell offers excellent vibration characteristics, delivering a bright and lively sound. It also has a strong presence and clear articulation, making it the perfect snare for rock tunes!

And do you see those two lines in the middle section? Thanks to PEARL’s unique dual inlay, the shell’s overtones are slightly reduced, resulting in a tight, cohesive sound.
The dual inlay isn’t just about sound, though! I also love the look—it features a nicotine white marine pearl covering in the dual-beat area, which matches the shell color perfectly and gives it a really cool vibe.☆

2.3mm SuperHoop II

This model uses PEARL’s standard 2.3mm steel triple-flanged hoop, which effectively balances the shell’s resonance. When I played it, the shell’s response was excellent, making it incredibly satisfying to play. The hoop also features a stylish engraved design, adding a touch of flair!

Lugs Inspired by the Origin of Pearl Drums: The “President” Series

This snare uses the same lugs found in Pearl’s original “President” series, the foundation of Pearl Drums. With the recent revival of the “President” series, these lugs have been modernized, providing a large contact area with the shell. This enhances sound control and tightens the overall tone.
The classic look is also a big part of its charm! ♪

Ultrasound Snare Wires

The DUOLUXE snare drum features a unique 6mm phosphor bronze end plate on its snare wires. By curving the inner side of the end plate, this series of snares achieves varied tension across the wires, offering different tones and responses. The DUOLUXE comes equipped with the standard “I TYPE,” which provides balanced tension for a consistent, even sound.

Classic-Design Strainer

The DUOLUXE features a classic-design strainer that ensures reliable ON/OFF switching. Paired with the SR-150E butt plate, which shares the same mounting angle, it allows for even tension across the snare wires for optimal performance.
