Sound House is headquartered in Narita, Chiba Prefecture. Three things that Chiba natives are most proud of in the world are peanuts, Tokyo Disney, and... Pearl Drums!
If you love music and musical instruments, you may have owned one or heard of Pearl Drums at least once.
Pearl Drums is located in Yachiyo, Chiba Prefecture, and its high quality and sophisticated design of products always attract players.
In addition to cymbals and snare drums, the company produces drum accessories, other types of percussion instruments, flutes, and various cases. Their originality and meticulous attention to detail makes their instruments able to produce the ideal sound.
Pearl Drums make rare gems that are loved by many famous musicians.
These products make the sound that you want a reality and they are always evolving beyond your expectations.
A large number of Pearl products are available for purchase at Sound House, and many of them are unique original percussion instruments.
In this article, I’m going to introduce some of Pearl Drums’ original percussion instruments.
1. Pandanza
The Pandanza is a percussion instrument that incorporates an 8-inch goat skin head pandeiro with an agogo bell.
This is a unique instrument that makes the clopping sound of an agogo bell sound together when the pandeiro is beaten.
It is recommended for Brazilian music and as a substitute for drums in acoustic live performances.
2. Shakerine
The Shakerine is a hand percussion with a mix of tambourine jingles and a shaker. It is compact and practical. You can play different tones by changing the angle to shake it or by muting it.
3. Shakelets
These Shakelets are a pair of shakers that can be worn on your wrists or ankles. Move your hands or feet to create a variety of sounds and tones. Wear the Shakelets when playing the bongo, cajon, and other various instruments. The uses for the Shakelets are limitless.
4. Ago-Sha
The Ago-Sha is a hand percussion that combines a ganza with high and low-pitched agogo bells. By shaking the shaker, the metal pieces inside the bell vibrate, and the sound can be turned on or off depending on the direction of the shaker, making this a new type of percussion that is enjoyable just by shaking it.
5. Tang-Tang
The Tang-Tang is a combination of a wood clacker and a shaker. The good point is that it is easy to learn how to play it, and a variety of tones can be produced depending on the player’s imagination. The Tang-Tang comes in a set of two: large (low pitched) and small (high pitched).
6. Metal Cabasa
A special material is used to make this Metal Cabasa in order to achieve a comfortable grip. This original cabasa allows you to precisely play tight rhythmic patterns.
7. Beaded Maracas
This is a pair of beaded maracas with fiberglass bodies decorated with shekere-style beads. This unique pair has a comfortable grip handle and produces an authentic sound.
8. Egg Carton
Pearl Drums added a new twist to egg shakers: The Egg Carton comes with a set of three egg shakers, which can be played separately or played together with all three in the tube as a single shaker.
Actually, there are many more of these unique percussion instruments from Pearl Drums!
That’s all for today, but there are so many that I have yet to introduce. I hope you will take a look at their lineup of practical instruments designed for percussionists and others that may surprise you!
