Forgot your Soundcraft Ui24R password?
Here's how to unlock it.

First of all, the Ui24R has three different passwords.

1. Hotspot (WLAN) password

Hotspot (WLAN) password for connecting mobile devices to the Ui24R.

2. Ui24R network administrator password

Network administrator password to change network settings (hotspot, Wi-Fi, LAN).

3. Global Master Protection password

Password to control access rights when used in multi-user mode.
(e.g. password to restrict access to band members only).

I will now quickly show you how to set and reset each of these passwords.

First Steps to Take

• Hotspot (WLAN) password
• Ui24R network administrator password

To set or change 1 and 2 above, you need to login to the network page.
Using the specialized Ui application, open the Network tab and press ‘CONFIG’.
A login screen pop-up will then appear.
The factory default settings are

User: admin
Password: admin

Enter them and log in.

This section explains how to set and reset each password.

How to set and Reset the Hotspot (WLAN) Password

■ How to Set and Reset Hotspot (WLAN) Password

The Hotspot (WLAN) password is not set by default.
(because network security is disabled).
This means that by default you can connect to the hotspot without entering a password.

If you want to enable the password, you need to enable network security from the tab ‘Hotspot Configuration’.

Scroll to the bottom of the Hotspot Configuration screen and you will find the ‘Network Security configuration’ button.
Tap ‘Network Security’ (WPA2) to enable security and set a password.
The default password is ‘scuiwlan’, but you can change this.
Here is the actual screen. ↓

■ Resetting the Hotspot (WLAN) Password

There are two ways to do this.

If you know the Ui24R network administrator password

① Enter the new password in the Security section of the Hotspot Configuration.
② Enter the user name/password when the network administrator password input screen pops up.

Method Using the Reset Button on the Main Unit

① While pressing the Ui24R Reset button, switch on the power.

② Keep the reset button pressed for 10 seconds.
The password is set to the default value ‘scuiwlan’ and the password is reset.

How to Set and Reset the Ui24R Network Administrator Password

■ To Set the Ui24R Network Administrator Password

Go to the NETWORK - CONFIG - ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD screen.
Enter the current password (default is admin) and enter the new password.
You can set or change the password using Save / Update.

■ Resetting the Ui24R Network Administrator Password

A full reset of the unit is required to reset the network administrator password.
The procedure for performing a full reset is as follows.
Create an empty file ‘fullreset.txt’ in the USB memory.
*Must always leave the file empty and name the file correctly.

Insert the USB memory into the USB memory slot on the unit.
Press the reset button for 30 seconds while switching on the Ui24R.

After releasing the reset button, leave the USB memory stick inserted and wait for 3 minutes for the reset to complete.
After 3 minutes have elapsed, switch off the power once.
Wait 15 seconds and reboot.
This will reset the Ui24R to its factory defaults.

How to Set and Reset the Global Master Protection Password

■ Setting the Global Master Protection Password

Global Master Protection can be switched on to restrict the rights of other users on the Ui24R.
It is disabled by default.
You can set the Global Master Password on the ACCESS page.

Touch ENABLE to display the password setting input pop-up. ↓

■ Reset the Global Master Protection Password

Create an empty file ‘masterpass.txt’ in the USB memory.
*Must always leave the file empty and name the file correctly.

Insert the USB memory into the USB memory slot of the unit.
Press the reset button for 10 seconds while switching on the Ui24R.

This will reset the global master protection.
