5 Handy Items from Gibraltar

Gibraltar offers a wide variety of product lineups that meet your every need! I would like to introduce 5 handy drum accessories from every drummer’s most trusted brand, Gibraltar.

GIBRALTAR / SC-DB

This first item is the SC-DB tuning key, an essential item for all drummers.
The SC-DB is a drill bit tuning key that can be used by simply attaching it to the power drill.
The structure is uncomplicated and simple to use. Just use this drill bit tuning key to save more than a 1/5 of the time that it normally takes to replace the drum head; Loosen the old head, replace with the new head and then tighten it until just before tension starts to resist.
This little tool is especially a lifesaver when you have to replace all drum heads in a drum set and will save you a ton of extra time!

GIBRALTAR / SC-GPHCUT

Next up is the SC-GPHCUT port hole cutter!
This item is great for when you want a microphone hole on the front head of your bass drum or when you don’t like the hole that usually is on the right side of the head.
Simply set the pin to your desired position for a microphone hole that measures from 2” to 10”.
So easy to use:

• ① Set the pin at the size position of the hole to where you plan to cut out.
• ② Press the SC-GPHCUT against the drum head at the position where you are going to make the hole, and then stick the pin into the head.
• ③ Turn the SC-GPHCUT while pressing it down to create a perfect circular hole with the built-in blade.

When creating the hole, I recommend pressing the SC-GPHCUT against the drum head from the back side rather than from the front side to prevent the head from loosening and doing this makes it easier to cut out the hole.
If you like using drum heads that don’t have holes like the FIBERSKYN from REMO, I recommend purchasing the SC-GPHCUT!

GIBRALTAR / SC-GPHP-6C

The SC-GPHP-6C is a port hole protector ring that can be used for the same purpose as the SC-GPHCUT.
A hole cutter is required separately, but the SC-GPHP-6C is easier to use than the SC-GPHCUT.
Simply attach the template that comes with the SC-GPHP-6C to the back of the head, cut open a hole along the template, and attach the silver protector ring so that it sandwiches the head between the back and the front sides. You can make the hole size using a fixed 6” SC-GPHP-6C.
The silver ring looks great around the microphone hole on the front head!
Bass drum heads with a microphone hole may gradually start to tear from the edge of the hole, but this silver ring protector prevents the front head from tearing.

GIBRALTAR / SC-MCSA6

The SC-MCSA6 is an excellent accessory that can be attached to a cymbal stand to allow an extra cymbal to be stacked.
This is what we call a cymbal stacker, and it looks like the top of a cymbal stand that has been cut out.
The SC-MCSA6 has 8mm threaded holes cut into the base, and can be attached to a cymbal stand with the same diameter of the cymbal mounting section to make two cymbals stacked.
The good thing about this item is that it is lightweight and portable due to its simple structure and compact design.
The SC-MCSA6 is recommended for small-diameter drum kits mainly for portable use with a limited number of drums and cymbals in the kit, which can be seen in small cafes and street performances. It is also perfect when you want to add small-diameter effect cymbals such as crash and splash cymbals to simple percussion like cajóns. This useful drum hardware that will definitely meet your needs without adding too much weight or spoiling the ease of use the instrument has.

GIBRALTAR / SC-USS

This last one is the SC-USS suspension system.
The SC-USS is a tom mount, but unlike many other tom mounts, this one does not require metal fittings to be attached to the shell of the tom, allowing for mounting without having to make any modifications. Multiple mounting holes are provided on the side plates of this suspension system to accommodate a variety of brackets.
The SC-USS can be used for a variety of shell sizes from 8" to 14". This comes in so handy.
By installing this suspension system and removing the bracket from the shell, you can bring out the full sound of the shell, resulting in a rich, mild attack with greater low-frequency sustain.
This is especially recommended for those who wish to enhance the sound quality of their drum set.
