This time, I would like to introduce some more songs that I have been into regardless of genre.
I will start writing this article with the hope that I can introduce at least one great song that you, the readers, can get hooked on!
The first song is called “Easy on Me” by Adel. The title of this song, “Easy on Me” can be translated as “be lenient with me,” “go easy on me,” or “be nice to me”. The song was written by Adele herself to explain her divorce to her son. She commented that she hopes her son, who is still young at 9 years old, will one day listen to it when he is older and understand his parents' feelings about having put him through the experience of their parents' divorce.
Despite being Adele's first new song in six years, it is only fitting that it has reached an impressive No. 1 on both the U.S. and U.K. charts. The atmosphere of the song itself is grandiose and exquisitely lonely, as if a ray of light that can be seen shining in the distance. The beautiful falsetto and extended long tones are very moving.
I first heard of this song when Taka from ONE OK ROCK covered it. I thought I had to listen to it, so I gave it a try and was hooked. The way Adele sings the strong masculine chorus is different from her other songs, and I think it’s a wonderful song. However, I was surprised that the voices are so similar that I could not tell which voice is which for a moment at the beginning of the A melody and the bass melody.

Next up is a song called “Way Back Home” by a Korean male singer named SHAUN. This song went viral on Tiktok and quickly gained massive attention. A YouTuber's cover video of this song in Japanese has received over 20 million views, which just shows the popularity of this song in Japan.
Korean idol groups such as BTS have been successful in gaining fans not only in Japan but also around the world, but this singer-songwriter is a rising star who suddenly produced a hit song, and expectations for his future activities are high.
I have listened to his other songs, but I still feel that the atmosphere of his melodies is very similar to that of Japanese pop music. Being located in the same Asian region and being close to each other, there are some cultural similarities, and I feel that this is reflected in the songs. There have been covers in Japanese and English, but the rhythm of the original lyrics is something that only the Korean language can bring out, and I have become interested in the Korean language. (lol) Music is what got me interested in English, and it seems that the same is true for Korean, and this song is a great opportunity for me to learn.
