You can MIDI connect your Mac easily and wirelessly to a step sequencer, drum machine, or any equipment with MIDI IN/OUT terminals. ■ How to check if your Mac is compatible with the MD1

• Click the Apple icon on the top menu bar and select ‘About This Mac’
• Click on ‘System Report...’ on the popup screen for OS information
• Select ‘Bluetooth’ from the bar on the left
• If it says “Bluetooth Low Energy Supported: Yes”, your Mac is compatible with the MD1

■ How to connect MD1 and Mac

Step① Click ‘Go’ on the top menu bar, then select ‘Utilities’

Step② Select ‘Audio MIDI Setup’

Step③ Click ‘Window’ on the top menu bar and then select ‘Show MIDI Studio’

Step④ Click the Bluetooth icon at the top of the MIDI Studio window to show ‘Bluetooth Configuration’

Step⑤ Now, let’s move on to set up the hardware.
Connect the MD1 from your Mac to a MIDI device. If the indicator light glows blue, the power is properly receiving supply.

■ Tip

Even if you have more than one MD1, we recommend connecting one MD1 unit first. Then, proceed to the next steps so that you can easily understand how it works. The specific flow is as follows.

• Start with no MD1s connected to the MIDI devices
• Connect the first MD1 unit to a MIDI device
• Connect the MD1 software to your Mac, which will be explained later
• If the connection for the first MD1 unit is done, connect the second MD1 unit to another MIDI device
• Now connect the MD1 software to your Mac for the second MD1 unit

Step⑥ Click ‘Connect’.

Step⑦ Click again on ‘Connect’ as shown on the popup screen below to proceed.
*If you are connecting MD1s one by one, you can just keep clicking on ‘Connect’ and proceed.

If the button under ‘Action’ on the screen capture shown in Step⑥ turns to ‘Disconnect’ from ‘Connect’, it means the MD1 is properly connected. Go back to Step⑤ and repeat the same steps to connect one by one if you have more than one MD1!

When you have finished these steps, now you can see ‘MD1’ on the list of the MIDI devices of your DAW software.
Set it to MIDI IN/OUT device according to your DAW software, and you're done!
