The ‘Silver Week’ holidays are now over...
I spent most of my vacation watching videos on YouTube and TikTok, and I just stayed home. However, I did go for a drive. My days off always go by so fast. It makes me so sad.
By the way, have you ever seen TikTok videos?
At the beginning of August, I asked my senior colleagues at Sound House, who are close to my age, if they had watched TikTok videos, but most of them answered that they hadn’t...
I think many of you already know or this blog title already told you but...
Sound House has finally launched an official TikTok account!!
Maybe some of you have already installed the TikTok app and even followed us! Thank you for your likes and following.
Some of our followers seem to have already posted TikTok videos where they played musical instruments from Sound House or uploaded music they composed.
We’re also looking forward to customers’ videos by those who newly installed TikTok and connected to our account! Please give it a try!
So, in this article I’m going to talk about the equipment we used to shoot the TikTok videos.
When we were filming a video with one of us playing guitar and singing, all of a sudden trouble occurred.
“The guitar is louder than the singing voice!”
Then it was too late to predict this kind of problem. Lol.
It’s a shame that we used the smartphone’s built-in microphone to create a video at Sound House! Our bosses may be mad if they find out about it...
So, we used this handy item.
Here it is.
This audio interface is for smartphones with the Lightning connector.
We connected an AKG C214 condenser microphone to this and filmed a video of vocals on guitar.
The sensitivity of this microphone is high and I got the impression that it picks up every detail of the sound really well!
We set the knob on the SmartRig at around 3 o’clock and made an audio recording.
Here is the video we shot with these pieces of equipment.
This is our colleague R playing guitar and singing “Yowanehaki” by MAISONdes, the song that has been making a lot of buzz on TikTok.
Her voice sounds so lovely!!
Well, how do you like this sound quality!?
I think it was recorded very nicely! The SmartRig is a big success with the microphone!
I felt like I discovered a gem and I was so excited.
I have an iPhone so I used the SmartRig for the Lightning connector, but for Android users, there are also models for 3.5 mm jack and USB Type-C, so please try that out!
The SmartRig is so easy to control because all you have to do is connect it to your smartphone and microphone or guitar, and then turn the knob.
I think the SmartRig will be a must for our future video shootings.
By the way, please watch another colleague of ours singing and playing with the PDP300 electric piano.
In fact, we took this video with the built-in microphone from the smartphone!!
I think the piano stands out too much...
I also thought it was okay because his piano playing sounded awesome, but now I think we should have set up a microphone to record it...
However, his vocals are so amazing. We even added lighting that looked like a flame to match the mood to the song. This one is my personal favorite. Please check out this video as well!
What do you think?
I’ve been trying my best to post TikTok videos every day while trying out various kinds of equipment using trial and error.。
We are also waiting for your requests and/or questions for video ideas and equipment suggestions!
We also have campaigns where you can win wonderful prizes as a thank you for always supporting Sound House. Please check it out!
