The JBL EON ONE Compact is a popular all-in-one PA speaker that features an 8-inch speaker, a 4-channel mixer, Bluetooth control, and a battery that runs for up to 12 hours in its compact body.
The JBL Compact Connect app allows you to control volume levels, equalizers, effects, and other functions from a distance, making it even easier to enjoy music.
This time I would like to demonstrate how to set up the BT BROADCAST mode, which allows you to link multiple EON ONE Compact speakers and enjoy music playback via Bluetooth in stereo. I’m going to present the steps along with the captures of the operating screen.
-
First, take the EON ONE Compact speakers and turn them on. The JBL Compact Connect can control up to four units.
-
Start the JBL Compact Connect app and tap "SKIP".
-
Tap the "LINK" button that appears on the screen. Wait for a short while until the "Connecting" message disappears.
-
When completed, the "LINK" button will be switched to "UNLINK".
-
Press the menu icon on the upper left and select "BT BROADCAST" to display as below.
-
Tap on the speaker pictures to change them to blue, and then select "HOST" and "REMOTE" to display the message below. Please note that it has not finished yet!
-
Tap the square in the lower left of the screen, and the following message will pop up. Tap “OK” to confirm.
-
Wait for a moment until the message "Associating" disappears, and when the following message appears, it’s complete.
Here is the screen you will see when tapping the home button on the bottom left after the settings are complete. You can see the Bluetooth mark and the "L, R, HOST, REMOTE" icons have been added.

By the way, when I tapped the "HOST" button in step 6, it wasn’t selected, and instead, the following message popped up and I couldn’t proceed. I learned that it appears when the Bluetooth pairing has not been done for music playback. If you get this message, first press and hold the Bluetooth button on the EON ONE Compact speaker for pairing and try again.

This is the screen when the Bluetooth has not yet been paired for music playback.

This is the screen after the Bluetooth pairing for music playback is done. You can see another JBL EON1COMP connection with an “i” icon to the right of “Connected”.

*Notes
- The sound source can be shared in BT BROADCAST mode via Bluetooth only.
- The sound of the microphone or instrument connected to the first speaker cannot be sent to the second speaker via Bluetooth.
- If you wish to share the sound of the microphone or instrument, connect the PASS THRU output of the first speaker to the LINE input (CH1 or CH2) of the second speaker.
I hope this helps!
