It’s so hot!
This year is especially brutal. Can you believe the rainy season ended in June?
Right? Which brings me to this week’s topic!
Oh? What is it?
Heatwave survival gear!
Good idea. The rainy season guide came too late since it ended before we published, but the summer heat is here to stay. Let’s hear it!
First up:
Logos / Cooling Dry Towel - Blue
Oh? I didn’t know Sound House carries Logos. They sure have a broad selection!
There’s another color too!
Logos / Cooling Dry Towel - Orange
Why the warm tone...? But this is a great idea. Lugging gear around in this heat is tough.
Next up:
Gibson / GA-DNMC
Ah, a cap. Perfect for preventing heatstroke, especially with that mesh back.
Exactly!
KiU / K85-157 Packable Safari Hat - Tropical Bird Print
For sun protection, wide-brim hats like this are ideal.
And the tropical design feels like a vacation! Next,
Logos / Solar Block Full Parashade
Great for sunshade, but isn’t this basically a tent?
Impressive product range at Sound House, huh?
Let’s check the description: A full-closure parasheet with Solar Block coating. UV-CUT rate: 99.9%, light-blocking rate: 100%. The outer white reflects sunlight and UV rays, while the inner black absorbs heat. Temperature difference between shade and sun: up to 15°C!
That’s serious heat-blocking!
Yeah, but carrying this around would be a hassle!
By the way, do you have specific summer stage outfits?
Summer outfits? Hmm... not really. It’s more like, “Let’s skip the jacket today since it’s so hot.”
For The Captains, our signature military uniforms are non-negotiable. We don’t have summer versions.
Ah, right. That looks intense... even the audience feels the heat...
Also, our bassist, Ted, sweats like crazy.
True. I remember his sweat caused the inside of his bass to corrode. Even the truss rod became hard to turn—it rusted from the sweat, right?
Which is why I found this for Ted:
Logos / Yaden Body Air-Conditioner - Cool Direct (Regular)
A belt-style air conditioner?
Probably designed for outdoor workers. There’s a larger version too!
Logos / Yaden Body Air-Conditioner - Cool Direct (Large)
Ah, I’ve seen outdoor workers use these. It kind of looks like a superhero’s transformation belt!
There’s also a twin-fan version:
Logos / Body Air-Conditioner - Twin Cool (Black)
Now that looks effective. Ted definitely needs this!
Right? Turns out there’s quite a variety of summer survival gear!
Indeed. Many of these are listed under the “festival gear” category, probably aimed at summer festival-goers.
It’s festival season! I hope we see events happening everywhere this year!
By the way, aside from gear, do you have any everyday precautions for your equipment? It might overlap with the rainy season tips, but I mostly just avoid leaving instruments in direct sunlight.
That’s crucial! I wonder if tropical woods are naturally more sun-resistant...
Also, this isn’t really a solution, but what I hate most about this season is carrying gear. Backpacks and cases make my back a sweaty mess.
Oh, totally.
Can’t we do something about that? Like adding a cooling pad—like the kind used in bedding—where the case touches your back?
That’s a great idea!
Or maybe strap on a Logos Cooling Dry Towel. Just wet it to stay cool! Of course, we’d need to make sure the gear inside stays dry. A cooling case would be awesome—summer-proof gear cases!
With built-in fans, too!
No, that’s overkill...
But, in the end, because everything is...?
For love!
