Introducing Compact... No, Ultra-Compact Effect Pedals!!

Effect pedals are essential gear for guitarists and bassists.
I’m sure everyone has their own preferences and priorities.

The criteria for choosing pedals also vary from person to person, but…

When I buy them, what I value most is “size and weight.”
Of course, functionality and ease of use are important too, but I try to choose the “minimum necessary gear” in the “smallest possible size.”

Because… carrying a heavy pedalboard is exhausting!! (I’m sure many of you can relate.)

To help keep a setup lightweight and portable, I’ll carefully select and introduce some ultra-compact effect pedals that I highly recommend!!

ROWIN / LEF-320 AC STAGE Acoustic Simulator

An acoustic simulator sold by “ROWIN,” a brand well-known for its compact size, good value, and wide lineup.
Among the compact effect pedals available at Sound House, this is by far the most recommended!!!

The light blue-based color scheme gives it a very pop and cute design.

Equipped with three modes:

• Piezo mode
• Standard mode
• Jumbo mode

All of them are very high quality!!!
The control section is simple, consisting of VOLUME, BODY, and TOP, making it very easy to understand and beginner-friendly!!

The size is 95mm (D) × 45mm (W) × 53mm (H).

The only drawback is that it cannot use a 9V battery, so an AC adapter 9V DC (center negative/sold separately) is required!

It’s amazing that you can get such a high-quality acoustic simulator at this price range… it’s truly impressive…

ROWIN / CRUSH BIT Bit Crusher

The ROWIN / CRUSH BIT is a bit crusher that reduces signal resolution to create entirely new sounds.

It allows you to easily produce a unique atmosphere similar to old-school game sounds.
It’s probably used more often with single-note playing rather than chords.

This effect is perfect for adding subtle accents.
By combining it with other effects, you can create unexpectedly interesting sounds.

ROWIN / SLOW HAND Slow Effect

A rare effect pedal from ROWIN, known for its good price, the SLOW HAND.
It creates an effect where the initial attack of the sound is suppressed and then gradually increases in volume.

Simply put, it can produce a sound that swells like a violin.
The control section is extremely simple, with only two knobs: THRESHOLD and SWELL!!

It works well not only for chord playing but also for arpeggios.

Effects Bakery / An Butter Koppe Drive (Fukuda Pan Collaboration)

A collaboration model between Effects Bakery and Fukuda Pan, a bakery founded in Iwate in 1948 and now popular nationwide.

I never imagined a collaboration between a food company and an effect pedal.
It features a cute design with a relaxed character of an An-Butter Koppe Bread printed on it.
On the side, there is also a character of a baker!

Its wide range and clear tone produce rich distortion.
It covers everything from clean boost to a present, medium overdrive sound, making it suitable for various uses.

The sound that preserves the original tone of the guitar is very high quality even compared to others in the same price range.

Effects Bakery / New Ginger Fuzz

Like the above, this is also a collaboration model with a food manufacturer.
As expected from a collaboration with the famous Iwashita no Shinshoga, its pink coloring really stands out.

Based on the well-known Muff-style fuzz with a powerful presence, it has been refined to be more manageable and articulate, with improved usability.
It is recommended not only for guitar but also for bass.

There are two design variations, delivered completely at random.
The excitement of not knowing which one you’ll get just adds to the fun!

DANELECTRO / DJ-5 Tuna Melt

A tremolo pedal with a distinctive retro design.
By periodically raising and lowering the volume, it creates a unique modulation that builds a dreamy atmosphere.

The controls are simple: Speed, Depth, and a Hard/Soft switch.

One drawback is that the switch can be a bit difficult to press…
With some customization or adjustments, it can become easier to use!
