Enjoy DJing at home - DJ booth production

On June 19, requests for voluntary restraint from attending live music events and other venues due to the effects of the COVID-19 were lifted. However, we are still unable to carry out large scale events. I'm a DJ myself, but currently events are few and far between, and it's not easy to DJ at any venues. And the situation continues. Let's do something about this and start DJing at home now! All you have to do is start streaming and let your friends enjoy your show! So, I’ve decided to share my "home DJ" fun with you over the next few sessions.

In this article, I'm going to show you my home DJ booth and what I used to create my booth.

This is what my booth looks like. It's a great way to stay excited about DJing when you have a booth at home.

In my experience, I think the size of the table or desk should be at least 120cm wide and 60cm deep if you want to use a turntable. Sound House has a variety of tables and desks for DJs in various sizes, as well as fold-up versions. They were intentionally designed to be used by DJs, so the sizes are perfect. It’s possible to use these as well.

I use both analog and digital when I DJ, so I have two turntables. And here’s the layout!

The mixer I'm using is the VESTAX PMC-26, which is no longer available. I use this because I admire the great house and techno DJs and I really wanted to have a rotary mixer at home. I looked for a lot of used items when I accumulated my equipment.

When I DJ with digital sound sources, I use a controller or connect a DJ audio interface.

Unfortunately, the monitor speakers are under the table due to space constraints. Considering they are monitor speakers, they really should be at ear level. I use the following products at home.

　 These are 5" 305P MKII from JBL. They’re more than enough sound for one person to enjoy. The stand and cables are Classic Pro products.
