  ホワイトスネイクやシン・リジィなどの活躍でハードロックやメタルファンに長年絶大な人気を得てきたギタリストのジョン・サイクスが死去したことが公式ウェブサイトで発表されました。享年65歳。ローカルバンドSTREETFIGHTERにおいて、1980年のNWOBHM勃発期にリリースされた名コンピレーション盤"New Electric Warriors"での音源リリースや「サクソン」のサポート・アクトのツアーにおいて披露していたエネルギッシュなギタープレイで人気を集めると、スカウトによりタイガース・オブ・パンタンに参加。NWOBHMブームの渦中に2枚のアルバムでプレイした後は、シン・リジィに参加。その雄姿はライブ盤『ラスト・ライヴ』でも堪能する事ができます。シン・リジィの解散後は、デイヴィッド・カヴァデールにスカウトされてホワイトスネイクに参加。1987年に結成したブルー・マーダーでは、初来日公演においてホワイトスネイクの曲も披露するなどのサービス精神溢れるライブでファンを喜ばせていました。90年代以降もシン・リジィの再結成をはじめハードロック・ギタリストとして愛され続けた偉大なギタリスト、ジョン・サイクス。
  1983年の超絶プレイが聴けるシン・リジィの名盤から1曲お贈りして、心よりご冥福をお祈りいたします。
