■Choosing a Standard Cable
Here are some of the world’s best classic speaker cables that are too wild to talk about to those in the know. Some are recommended for first-time users, while others have been using these for a long time.
- CANARE
The standard cables from CANARE are 4-core cables that come in models the 4S6, the 4S8, and the 4S11. 4-core cables have a structure in which the magnetic fields cancel each other out evenly that cancels out radiated noise. Most speakers and power amplifiers on the market today have 2-core jacks and it has become common for people to use a 4-core cable as a 2-core cable.
The number following the 4S indicates the outer diameter of the cable. 4S6 is flexible and fairly strong, but if you’re looking for something stronger, choose a thicker cable such as the 4S8 or 4S11!
