Review of the Latest Guitar Effects Pedal POD Express Guitar by Line6!

I got the chance to try Line6's newest effect pedal, the POD Express Guitar, which was just released in May 2024. So in this issue, I would like to sum up the things that I liked about this effect pedal after trying it out I hope this review will be helpful to you!

　Intuitive Control and Realistic Sound!

The unique design is the first thing that attracts attention, don’t you think? It is controlled by a total of five knobs, an ALT-swich, and two footswitches.
At first I wondered, "How am I supposed to get a sound out of this? ......," but when I actually tried it out, I found that it was truly intuitive. The 5 knobs that are used to adjust the effect pedal are Amp Switch, DELAY," DISTORTION, MOD, and REVERB. Each of the 4 knobs can be set by turning them and they can be switched between the four effects set for each knob to adjust the effect level. Also by turning each effect knob while holding down the ALT button, you can adjust the amp's GAIN, BASS, MIDDLE, and TREBLE settings.
The design is intuitive, yet it’s stylish enough to meet the needs of those who want to create a detailed sound.

The sound quality was also perfect, as it is inherited from the HX family. This time, I mainly played the sound through headphones, and I liked the stereo effect of the modulation effect pedals! Of course, the amp sounds and distortion effects are also excellent. Especially for amp sounds, the EQ can be adjusted in addition to GAIN, and it was very enjoyable to find the sound that I liked. Personally, I liked the sound of the CRUNCH amp with light distortion and a solid middle! You can enjoy cool distortion with a grungy sound!

You can also save up to 21 presets and recall them smoothly. This is a perfect specification for live use.

　This one pedal is multifunctional and has so many features!

As you can see in the image on the left, the POD Express supports stereo output as well as external control input. I personally want to mention that it supports USB connection! You can practice guitar to your favorite songs or backing guitars by connecting the effect pedal to your smartphone or PC, and it also has an audio interface for recording!

It also supports headphone output and is battery-powered, so the only things you need are a guitar, a cable, and headphones, so you can easily produce sound anytime, anywhere. The size is also very compact for a multi-effects pedal, so you can easily carry it in your bag for the time being!

Many guitarists may have the impression that Line6’s multi-effects pedals are difficult to use since they’re high-grade, but I thought that the new POD Express Guitar" is very intuitive and an easy way to enjoy high quality guitar sounds. Personally, I also highly recommend its pop and retro design and it is not only for experienced players, but also for guitar players like myself who do not practice guitar that hard but want to practice but still want to sound good!
