Hello! I’d like to write a continuation of "A special pickguard for the bass that excites your heart!" that I posted last summer. Click here for the previous post
→ A special pickguard for the bass that excites your heart !
To briefly introduce the points of choosing a pickguard, first of all, it’s "ply" that means "layer" and how many boards it is composed of. Since the materials vary depending on the product, the number of plies doesn’t directly affect the strength, but I think that plywood tends to be more design-rich and unique than single ply.
Also, the solid guitar/bass pickguard is attached with screws instead of adhesive. To save yourself the process as much as possible, it’s better to take the screw hole positions into consideration.
This time, I’m going to introduce jazz bass pickguards. Let’s replace your pickguard and change the look of your bass.
FENDER / 10-Hole Contemporary Jazz Bass Pickguard White Pearl
The color is white pearl that I personally like. I like that the color looks different from different angles.
WD Music Products / JBAS-310R American Standard Jazz Bass Red Mirror
This is a red mirror pickguard. Here’s how it looks↓

WD Music Products / JBAS-308 Fender American Standard Jazz Bass Blue
A 3-ply, blue-white-blue, pickguard. I like how it looks when viewed from the side.

SCUD / JB-G3P
MONTREUX / 62 JB pickguard Mint Green relic [1423]
Mint green is a popular standard color, but it varies such as with strong ivory and strong green. MONTREUX’s is vintage-like design with relic finish. It’s made with attention to detail such as truss rod notch.

Vintage finish screws are included!

You can see the difference with normal mint green.

Sago / JB 70's Design Pickguard Paisley
It’s a vintage and classic paisley, but black color makes it look calm and nice. The pattern has a 3D effect due to special printing process.

Sago / JB 70's Design Pickguard Rusty
This design is called Rusty that faithfully expresses the rust. It’s truly a unique pickguard.
WD Music Products / JBAS-345 Fender American Standard JazzBass Clear Acrylic
A transparent acrylic pickguard. Recommended for those who need a pickguard for a practical reason but don’t want to hide the grain pattern on the body. By the way, I’ve seen a bassist who put printed photos and illustrations between the bass body and pickguard, and made it original. It’s also good to put stickers.
How was it? In the future, we’d like to offer not only pickguards for standard models such as jazz bass and precision bass, but also for the various models of basses. We have various designs other than those introduced this time. Please check them out.
