Variations

A 2-channel compressor that blends vacuum tubes and FETs to deliver high-quality compression.

While the original Drawmer 1960 used a vacuum tube stage before the compressor, the 1968 MkII utilizes a J-FET (field-effect transistor) gain reduction circuit, which operates faster than an optical isolator. The compressor uses a 12AX7 vacuum tube makeup gain amplifier, and the output gain control allows for up to 20 dB of additional gain. The compressor operates on a soft-knee principle, with a progressive onset of compression, eliminating the need for a ratio control.

The 1968 MkII expands the attack time to six options: 2, 9, 15, 25, 30, and 50 milliseconds. The release time has three fixed options (100 ms, 500 ms, and 1 second) and three program-dependent options (200 ms to 2 seconds, 500 ms to 5 seconds, and 1 to 10 seconds), all of which are program-dependent and automatic.
The 1968MkII also features full side-chain access for connecting an external equalizer for vocal stress or de-essing.

真空管とFETをブレンドし、高品質なコンプレッションを実現した「ステレオ・バス」コンプレッサー1968 MkIIは、激しいコンプレッション時でも透明感のある「オープン」なサウンドを提供します。

オリジナルのDrawmer 1960はコンプレッサーの前段に真空管ステージを使用していましたが、1968 MkIIはオプトアイソレーターよりも高速に動作するJ-FET（電界効果トランジスタ）ゲインリダクション回路を採用しています。1968年型コンプレッサーは12AX7真空管メイクアップ・ゲイン・アンプを使用しており、Output Gainコントロールで最大20dBの追加ゲインを加えることができます。レシオ・コントロールの必要性は取り除かれ、コンプレッサーはソフト・ニーの原理で動作し、コンプレッションの開始はプログレッシブです。

The Controls

1968 MkIIでは、アタック・タイムが6種類に増加： 2、9、15、25、30、50ms。リリース・タイムは3種類の固定時間（100ms、500ms、1秒）と、3種類のプログラム依存の選択肢（200ms～2秒、500ms～5秒、1～10秒）があり、すべてプログラム依存で自動制御されます。

1968 MkIIは、外部イコライザーを接続してボーカルのストレシングやディエッシングを行うためのフル・サイドチェーン・アクセスを備えています。

両チャンネルに搭載された「BIG」と「BIGGER」モードは、基本的な低周波数への処理を抑えつつ、「ブーミー」や「箱鳴り」の原因となる上の倍音成分を抑制します。その結果、重低音が強化されたソリッドなボトムエンドと、全体的にスムーズでワイドな周波数特性が得られます。これにより、ミックス全体により多くのコンプレッションをかけることができ、キックやベース楽器によるポンピングアクションを抑えることができます。
