From Sony, the leader in the wireless headphone market, comes "1000X THE COLLEXION" —their premium line that pursues even higher-quality materials and wearing comfort in addition to the high sound quality of the 1000X series.
This time, I was able to audition the actual machine immediately after its release while comparing it with the WH-1000XM6, so I will review it from a staff perspective!

01. A Sophisticated, Meticulous Design That Satisfies the Desire of Ownership
First, I checked out the exterior and design.
While it features Sony's signature minimal and simple look, it feels distinctly premium when holding it in your hands.
The housing uses a high-quality faux leather material, providing a smooth, pleasant texture that instantly makes you think, "Ah, this is nice." Personally, it left a very positive impression on me.
The headband adopts matte stainless steel, hitting an exquisite balance between an elegant appearance and a sturdy sense of rigidity. The logo is understated, but that only helps to highlight its luxurious atmosphere.

02. Superb, Fatigue-Free Fit
When I put them on, the very first thing I felt was a sense of reassurance that I could wear these for a long time.
The headband is slightly wider than that of the "WH-1000XM6," providing a more stable fit against the head.
Furthermore, clever adjustments have been made to the inside of the earpads and the housing interior, featuring an angled design that prevents your ears from brushing against them. This subtle touch works wonders, significantly reducing any sense of pressure or discomfort.
Even during the audition, there was no stress whatsoever, offering a wearing comfort that naturally lets you focus on the music.
The housing has also been made thinner, so another plus is that it doesn't look bulky when worn. The look is smart, and the fit is incredibly well-crafted.

03. A "Genuine" Sound Finished by Professionals
As for sound quality, it leaves an impression that is exactly what you would expect from Sony.
Similar to the "WH-1000XM6," it achieves a reassuring sound balance tuned through co-creation with mastering engineers. In terms of audio quality compared to the "WH-1000XM6," it features a slightly wider soundstage, greater high-frequency extension, and excellent separation. You can experience the ultimate sound that lets you comfortably immerse yourself in music.
This model is equipped with the Integrated Processor V3 for the first time and also supports "DSEE Ultimate." I actually tested it with streaming audio sources, and the amount of detail is so robust that it is hard to believe it is compressed audio.
To be honest, the quality was at a level that made me think, "Wait, this is wireless, right?" The newly developed 30mm driver also does its job well, providing a spacious high-end and great vocal separation. The soundstage is wide as well, resulting in a finish that can be enjoyed regardless of the genre.

04. Noise Canceling That Generates Overwhelming Silence
The noise-canceling feature is equipped with the latest "HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3." This is, as always, stable Sony quality.
I tested it inside the store and in environments with air conditioning noise, and it firmly cuts out any distracting ambient sounds.
Something I personally found convenient was the "Speak-to-Chat” feature.
Just by speaking, the volume of the music you are listening to turns down and switches to ambient sound mode, making it look very easy to use for customer service or brief conversations.
Furthermore, the "Quick Attention Mode," which lets you hear ambient sounds just by placing your hand over the right housing, is expectedly convenient. The practical side of things has been thoroughly engineered as well.

05. Spatial Audio Enveloped in Sound: 360 Upmix Function
Lastly, a feature you should definitely try out is "360 Upmix."
In addition to the conventional "Cinema" mode, "Music" and "Game" modes have been added.
When you actually switch between them, the way the sound spreads out and the localization firmly change, making it incredibly fun to listen to.
It can be easily toggled with a button on the left housing, so another plus is that you can casually switch modes to match your content.

What did you think?
When I was interacting with it, it was a model that firmly delivered a "next-level" experience in texture, wearing comfort, and sound quality alike. Since it is a product with many more detailed charms, if you are interested, be sure to try it out for yourself at a storefront!
