Have you heard of the brand called Danelectro?
Danelectro is a long-established American guitar manufacturer that was founded in 1947. In addition to manufacturing guitars, they also produce basses, effectors and guitar amplifiers.
Danelectro is known for its distinctive retro and cute appearance!
Among Danelectro's products, I recommend the following model
59 Series
The 59-DC guitar is the most representative of the Danelectro brand; as the name suggests, the 59 is a series that reproduces models from 1959. (There are rumours that it was in circulation in 1958…)
Despite its appearance, it actually has a semi-hollowbody, which gives it a unique airy sound.
This model is based on the 59 with the Badass type bridge for improved sound and convenience.
59 bass
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, Danelectro also produces basses.
DANELECTRO / 59DC Short Scale Bass Vintage Cream
The bass features a semi-hollowbody that is rare for basses, and Danelectro's lipstick pickups for a sweet sound. The short scale makes it a good choice for women and children.
Effects Pedals
Danelectro also makes a wide range of effectors. All of them are characterised by their original chassis design and retro-inspired colouring. They are all pleasing to the eye. Of course, it goes without saying that the sound is also good.
The DSR-1 is a reverb effect pedal that replicates the spring reverb that is built into vintage amplifiers. The spring is actually mounted inside the body! This one has a kick pad and by kicking the effects pedal, you can reproduce the crash sound of a spring reverb!
Amplifier
Last but not least is the Honeytone amplifier series from Danelectro.
An authentic mini amplifier with a vintage radio look. There is no way anyone would be able to predict how authentic and powerful the sound is just by judging from the cute appearance. The Honeytone is perfect not only as a guitar amp, but also as a room interior!
I tried this mini amp out and I was shocked at how powerful it is, which is hard to believe it's only 1W. The sound is also surprisingly good, and by turning the O.DRIVE knob, I could express a wide range of sounds, from a pretty intense distortion sound to a stylish crunch!
And, the best thing about the Honeytone is its size. It’s so small that it can fit in the palm of my hand! This ampl can also be powered by a 9V battery, so it's perfect for playing outdoors!
This amp is the perfect value practice amp that is being sold for an affordable price..
This was my introduction of the Danelectro brand. You will surely be captivated by its cute design. You would think this brand is only for experts, but it's surprisingly affordable and I highly recommend it for beginners. Consider adding them to your equipment purchase list!
