Scandinavian audio brand AIAIAI has released a new set of DJ monitor headphones, the TMA-2 DJ XE.
AIAIAI is a brand that is popular for its high fashion sense and is sold at select fashion stores. Their best-selling TMA-2 DJ is also famous as a highly reliable professional DJ monitor headphone used by top DJs in Japan and overseas.
Another set, the TMA-2 Studio Wireless, offers ultra-low latency wireless connectivity and this brand is gaining popularity at Sound House. The TMA-2 Studio Wireless is highly regarded not only by audiophiles but also by musicians and engineers.

Ok, now this time, the newly released TMA-2 DJ XE inherits AIAIAI’s quality that their headphones have had up to now, but this set is being sold at a lower price and is an excellent value. This model can be used not only for DJ monitoring but also for music production, listening, and a wider range of other more casual applications.

Let’s check out the TMA-2 DJ XE right away.
The headband is the slim H01. It does not have that much cushioning, but the surface is elastic and does not feel too stiff when worn. The most important point is that it is lightweight. Since it’s lightweight, it’s easy to carry around.

The ear pads are PU leather on-ear E02 type. The cushioning material is made of memory foam, which gives them a chunky feel. It is also good for people who usually wear glasses, as it does not easily interfere with the frames.
The speaker unit is the key to the sound and the TMA-2 DJ XE uses the S01 MKII with a bio-cellulose diaphragm, which is both environmentally friendly and offers high sound quality. It is characterized by its sound resolution that has a good balance from bass to treble and a crisp, tight sound. It really does seem to go well with groovy music.

For the cable, the 1.5m long straight type C05 is used, and is suitable for connecting to portable audio and laptop computers. The TMA-2 series uses a detachable cable, so you can customize it by replacing it with a coiled cord (sold separately), or change the color.

The sound quality, which I was interested in, was impressive not only for its good balance but also for its thick bass that is as good as that of the popular TMA-2 DJ model. It might be more elegant than the TMA-2 DJ. The TMA-2 DJ had a tight bass sound with a strong presence, but the TMA-2 DJ XE has a more refined bass sound. The mids and highs were also clear, and the bass as well as vocals and guitars were expressed very well. I can enjoy listening to groovy music, from computer music to pop music.
These headphones are worth a try for those who are concerned about both appearance and sound quality.
The TMA-2 DJ XE is now on sale at Sound House! We’re awaiting your order!
