Will B-band wireless no longer work?" I often hear such questions.
In response to this question, I will discuss the latest situation regarding the new spurious standard for wireless microphones.
As mentioned in a previous blog post, due to the "Revision of Radio Equipment Regulations," a law related to the Radio Law, wireless systems based on the old standard will no longer be usable from December 1, 2022 (They can be used until November 30, 2022.)
Use of the system is a violation of Radio Law and is subject to penalties and fines (imprisonment for up to one year or a fine of up to 1,000,000 yen). If the spurious regulation column in the technical compliance search results introduced in our previous blog indicates "new regulation," the product can be used after December 1, 2022. Products with the old standard cannot be used after December 1, 2022.
Yes, that's right. The old standard here is the key! It does not mean that all B-band wireless equipment will no longer be able to be used, but rather that wireless microphones made under the old standard will no longer be able to be used, as long as the new standard is used.
Please refer to our previous blog for how to find out.
⇒ "A Story on Wireless Mics that You Won’t Hear About - The New Spurious Standard
Initially, the old standard was to become unusable after December 1, 2022, but an extended period of time has been set for the transition due to the new spurious standard, taking into account the delay in equipment manufacturing and transition work due to the socioeconomic impact from the new coronavirus infection and other factors.
However, this does not mean that products under the old standard can be used unconditionally,
Extended "for the time being" under certain conditions
Condition → limited to cases where they do not interfere with the operation of other radio stations.
and "only if they do not interfere with the operation of other radio stations”.
In suburban areas, it is unlikely to affect other radio stations, but in urban areas, it may. Even though there has been a grace period set, extreme caution should be exercised when using products with the old standard.
In conclusion, I recommend that you buy a new one!
By the way, all the products sold at Sound House are the new standard. (As of April 2023)
Please note that in some cases, even products sold at Sound House in the past may be of the old standard (e.g., products that have been in circulation for a long time).
For the new and old standards, information is provided by each manufacturer. Please refer to the following.
As a side note, for CLASSIC PRO fans
All current CLASSIC PRO wireless products are compliant with the new standard. Please feel rest assured. The CW-PLUS series and the CW series before that (the models with the champagne gold receiver) are also compliant with the new standard.
Finally...
