Hello everyone, this out of the blue, but the days are getting colder~(^^)/~~~
This time of year reminds me of my brass band days when we practiced our instruments outdoors while shivering from the cold.
This blog is about the Onagawa Autumn Harvest Festival 2022 held in Onagawa Town.
We ate and drank delicious foods and drinks from Onagawa, and watched and listened to the wonderful stage events.
The sanma fish was delicious (important) and it was a very satisfying day!

Now, to the main topic.
This time, I have wanted to talk about this group for a long time. This is a Japanese taiko group called Tokyo Otome Daiko, who performed at the Onagawa Autumn Harvest Festival 2022.
About Tokyo Otome Daiko (from Tokyo Otome Daiko official website)
This is the birth of the first wadaiko idol unit produced by Ririi Sakura!
They mix the stylish and sexy “wadaiko” with a cute girlish spirit!
The idols cheerfully and energetically promote the great culture and bonds of Japan from Tokyo to the rest of the world through the traditional Japanese instrument wadaiko.

The instruments used were all electronic! The electronic wadaiko TAIKO-1, which can express everything from the sound of the Japanese big drums (Ohdaiko) to the Japanese high pitched drums (Shime Daiko) using only one instrument, is as close to live sound as possible, and the collaboration with the band members really showed how well the instruments come through even more vividly. It was very cool! And the members of Tokyo Otome Daiko were just too cute. I was so moved. ( ;∀;)
I was especially impressed by the aerophone!
It's so cool (>_<) The aerophone used is probably a Roland AE-10. *It is no longer sold at Sound House. The sound is played with shakuhachi (bamboo flute) to match the taiko drums. The sound is played on a shakuhachi flute to match the wadaiko. I like the way the breath is blown in, too, because it is very realistic.
■ What is an Aerophone Anyway?
An aerophone is an electronic musical instrument released by Roland that can play wind instruments, stringed instruments, recorders, shakuhachi, and various other tones with a single device. The Aerophone is a new and advanced electronic instrument from Roland that can be used to play wind instruments, stringed instruments, recorders, shakuhachi, and other instruments.
■ Aerophones/Models
Among the five models of Aerophones currently available from Roland, I have two models here.
First is the AE-05.
The AE-05 is the follow-up to the AE-10, and it’s a popular model in the Roland Aerophone series, featuring Bluetooth functionality and a lower price tag. The beloved series AE-05 is smaller and lighter than the AE-10 and it's easier to carry around. It takes up less space on the performance stage and is recommended as a switchable instrument.
Next is the AE-30

The AE-30 is a further upgrade from the AE-10 and AE-05 models, with a more sophisticated look and almost the same size as a soprano saxophone. The AE-30 can be used not only for acoustic saxophone fingering, but also for flute and clarinet fingering. The AE-30 reproduces realistic sounds of wind, string, and ethnic instruments, and has more built-in tones than other models, making it a product that can be enjoyed in accordance with a variety of playing styles.
■ In conclusion
This time, I went to the Onagawa event “Onagawa Autumn Harvest Festival 2022”. I enjoyed not only the beauty of Onagawa Town, but I also enjoyed the wonderful performance of electronic musical instruments! Come take this opportunity to try electronic instruments & visit Onagawa Town! (^^)!
