A few months ago, Sony released the LinkBuds, a true wireless earbud series focused on ambient listening. Now, the second installment in the LinkBuds Series, the WF-LS900N wireless earbuds, has already arrived.
The previous LinkBuds WF-L900 had a unique design with a ring-shaped driver unit, allowing you to hear surrounding sounds even while wearing them, making them perfect for ambient listening. On the other hand, the newly released WF-LS900N features a more conventional in-ear design. What makes these part of the LinkBuds Series? Let’s dive into the features of the WF-LS900N.

◯ World’s Smallest and Lightest
The first thing you’ll notice is the case’s size—it’s incredibly compact. When you hold it in your hand, you’ll be surprised by its lightness. The earbuds themselves are also very lightweight, and you won’t feel any heaviness when wearing them. They fit comfortably in the ears.
I found the previous WF-L900 less comfortable in my ears, but the WF-LS900N fits perfectly. The earbuds are very small, with minimal protrusion from the ears. This design improves the fit by shifting the center of gravity closer to the ear, showcasing Sony’s attention to detail.

◯ Natural Ambient Sound Mode
The feature I liked the most during testing was the ambient sound mode. Previous ambient sound modes in headphones and earbuds often sounded unnatural, but the WF-LS900N feels so natural that you might forget you’re wearing them.
Additionally, the familiar Sony app Headphones Connect supports these earbuds, allowing you to adjust the ambient sound level to your preference.

◯ High-Performance Noise Canceling
The LinkBuds WF-LS900N not only excel in ambient sound mode but also boast impressive noise-canceling capabilities. They offer noise cancellation on par with Sony’s popular WF-1000XM3 model. You can switch on noise canceling when you want to immerse yourself in music, or activate ambient sound mode for a more casual, on-the-go experience.

◯ High-Quality Sound Reproduction Without Compromise
While these earbuds shine in terms of features, they don’t skimp on sound quality. Thanks to LDAC support, they deliver high-resolution audio even wirelessly.
Vocals and individual instruments are captured with clarity, and the bass and drums have a rich, substantial presence.
What do you think?
Personally, I’m tempted to get these wireless earbuds. They seem comfortable enough for long periods of wear, whether for music, online meetings, or remote work.
