ROLAND / VR-1HD

The VR-1HD is equipped with 3 HDMI inputs and 2 microphone inputs, and is recommended for those who want to play live games, and talk while monitoring the video. In addition to the main output, there are two HDMI outputs for monitoring, and there is one microphone terminal on the front. So by connecting a gooseneck microphone to the microphone terminal, it is possible to talk while monitoring. Another attractive feature is that the controls for the microphone and line audio can be easily adjusted on the front panel.

The VR-1HD USB output uses the same method as a webcam. Just connect it to your computer with a single USB cable and you can deliver streaming in HD quality to your favorite platforms, including Facebook live, YouTube, Twitch, and so on. So this is a great tool for those who want to stream immediately, without the hassles of a complex setup.

In addition to broadcasting, this could be used at lectures as well. Just connect the moderator’s microphone to the microphone input on the side of the main unit and the main instructor’s microphone to the microphone input on the front of the VR-1HD, and it will make the interaction between the moderator and the instructor very smooth. If an image is projected behind the main instructor, you can send the same screen to the instructor’s monitor from the HDMI OUT monitor terminal, and the instructor can also see the screen while talking.

Blackmagic Design / ATEM Television Studio HD

Originally developed as a production switcher for the broadcasting and audiovisual industries, this was a device for professionals, and it was even used on the production site for the live-action version of the Disney movie, "Dumbo." However, it is not only compatible broadcast cameras, but also with consumer cameras. And as live switching can be performed simply by connecting a camera to a game console or computer, it is now popular for personal use as well.

And as there are 8 video inputs, it can also be recommended for those who want to switch many images. Because there is an HDMI output for a monitor, you can create your production while monitoring. Of course, since it can be used simply by connecting it to a distribution device, it also meets the high requirements for streaming and distribution. Because the output is only SDI, I would also recommend using it with the device below from the same manufacturer when using it for streaming.

Blackmagic Design / Blackmagic Web Presenter

By connecting Skype, YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Twitch.tv, Periscope, and other software to the ATEM Television Studio HD, it can be used for WEB streaming. It also recognizes SDI and HDMI video source from your USB webcam.

It’s also equipped with 12G-SDI and HDMI input, XLR microphone input, and HiFi audio input. It is also compatible with RCA audio input, so it's a handy piece of equipment for those who want to connect and stream old audio sources as well.

Nowadays, video switchers and mixers are popular mainly as streaming tools, but there are still many attractive products that I have not touched on here.
