Hello everyone! It’s Kaoru the composer here.
This time, I would like to talk about Bluetooth-enabled earphones/headphones.
With no end in sight for Covid these days, it has become more and more important to enjoy your home time. Many of you may want to start new hobbies such as watching movies, playing musical instruments, or listening to music. I recommend Bluetooth earphones and headphones to enjoy your form of entertainment to the fullest!
The Evolution of Bluetooth becoming the Standard Form of Wireless Connection
When you hear the word “Bluetooth,” you probably think of it as something that can connect wirelessly, but there is more to it than that. It is evolving day by day, and each version has various functions.
Here is an explanation!
Bluetooth1.0:
This is the initial version of the Bluetooth standard that was created in 1999. It is so old that it is difficult to find compatible products nowadays, so there is no need to learn it!
Bluetooth2.0:
This version first came out in 2004. It has a function to switch the maximum communication speed to 3Mbps and faster pairing.
Bluetooth3.0:
This version was created in 2009. High-Speed (HS) mode with a maximum communication speed of 24 Mbps was added as an option. A disadvantage was the bottleneck increase of power consumption.
Bluetooth4.0:
Overcame the power consumption problem that was a huge problem with the Bluetooth 3.0. Many products are still compatible with it today.
Bluetooth5.0:
This version came out in 2016. Communication speed, range, and capacity greatly expanded.
The 2019 update to Bluetooth 5.1 adds direction finding capabilities.
Bluetooth5.2:
The latest version that was released in 2020. Incorporates the new LE Audio technology. An audio sharing function has also been added.
So, since its birth in 1999, it has undergone numerous evolutions to reach its current performance. I can’t take my eyes off of it, as I have a feeling that it will continue to evolve.

SONY / SRS-WS1 Wearable Speaker
This is neither earphones nor headphones, but let me introduce these to you as an added bonus! These are wearable speakers made by the reliable and trustworthy brand, SONY.
You can enjoy a sense of presence as if there were high quality speakers nearby. Since they do not block your ears, you can listen to the sounds around you.
And, the best part is that they are less tiring! They are quite suitable for watching movies because your ears will not get sore even if you use them for a long time.
I also recommend these for those who live in apartment complexes where loud noise isn’t tolerated by the neighbors! By the way, these are not Bluetooth, but they can be connected through a transmitter.
These are some Bluetooth-enabled (wireless) earphones/headphones. By eliminating cables, you can enjoy music quite comfortably. Especially these days, there are many inexpensive but pretty high quality products, so there are plenty of choices! I hope you will try them, too!
