Nice to meet you everyone!
While being in charge of drums in a rock band called [harue], we are planning a music event [JOJOCON] to promote the town of Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture. My name is Tsukaguchi Kazuma!
Previously, I was introduced to the Sound House YOITOKO tour!

By the way, due to the recent spread of the new coronavirus virus, it has become difficult for artists and band members to enter the studio, practice songs, and even meet, let alone live.
As the word "Stay Home" implies, guitarists and bassists are now spending this time practicing at home. Also, there may be some people who are making their musical instrument debut now.
However, what I’m facing here is the "drummer home practice problem".
"I can't practice without having a drum set..."
"There is a noise problem..." "I don't have money because of this situation..."
"I need sticks but I don't know what to buy..."
The troubles of being a drummer are not limited to the above. In particular, practicing at home can be said to be an eternal task for drummers (excessive, maybe?)

As a drummer myself, until a while ago I thought, "You'll get good by hitting live drums in the studio!" But by starting practice at home in parallel, the members at the studio said "Good."
This is the reason why you have a chance to make a difference!
Therefore, in this post, which is my first in the column, entitled "Three sacred treasures for drummers practicing at home", I have selected three drum practice goods for the time you "Stay Home" that will allow you to practice at home, considering the price and noise problems.I would like to introduce them to you!
① YAMAHA / TS01S
YAMAHA 8-inch rubber training pad.
It comes with a stand so you can adjust it to the optimum height and practice! It's good to buy only the pads, but I personally think that stroking in the correct posture is the fastest way to improve, assuming you actually play!
Of course, you can disassemble it and carry only the pad with you, so you can practice any place! At 8 inches, it’s large enough that the sticks do not collide with each other. Since it is made of rubber, the volume is not a concern, but you can make the sound even quieter by covering it with a towel. The price is ¥3,900 (excluding tax), which is gentle on your wallet.
② PEARL / BD-10
Pearl training kick pad.
You can easily practice the bass drum kick at home! You may have seen this kind of kick pad often.
Some people may be concerned, "Is this really practice?" "Is the noise a problem?" But this kick pad uses a urethane pad with a high sound deadening effect, so it is far more effective than I imagined. It has a great muffling effect.
I myself tried the BD-10 at a musical instrument store, but since I can only hear the rubber attack sound, not the deep bass that is peculiar to the original bass drum, the volume is suppressed and it is suitable for click practice and home practice.
The price is as low as ¥4,980 (excluding tax)!
A separate kick pedal is required, but the Sound House house brand offers cheap, high-quality pedals, so even if you purchase a pedal as well, it will cost less than 10,000 yen.

If you use this together with the training pad with stand introduced in ①, you’ll have a complete super simple drum set. It's difficult to put up acoustic drums at home, and electronic drums require a budget. I would definitely recommend this to people who are concerned about these factors! With this, you can practice as much as you want day and night, and your drum life will expand even more.
③ VIC FIRTH / VIC-UPT
VIC FIRTH drumstick training tip.
I think there will be some drummers who say "I’m seeing this for the first time".
That's right, as you can see, instead of muting the side being hit, it mutes the side doing the hitting!
This product is perfect for those who have worries such as "I don't have the money to buy a drum pad!" or "I don't want to bulky baggage!"
It is a product that overturns the concept of training pads introduced so far.
Since it uses elastic rubber with an exquisite bounce feeling, it can be attached to any tip shape.Of course, it has a low-pitched sound effect, and you can practice anytime, anywhere without a training pad!
Great for sofas, desks, and mom's shoulders! Of course, if you use it together with the pad, you can expect an even more muffling effect.
The price is amazing ¥630 (excluding tax)
Summary
What did you think?
There are various things that will allow you to practice at home besides the products introduced this time. You can practice strokes by stacking magazines and pillows, and kick practice that moves your legs in the air without buying pedals is another fine exercise.
The important thing is "is it sustainable". No matter how expensive an electronic drum you buy, it doesn't make sense if you quit in three days.
You can improve your skills by thinking positively, "There are such wonderful drum goods that allow you to practice at home, so let's do our best without giving up! Sound House Cheat Sheet! Since we introduce the rudiments that you can do at home, it may be good to practice with referencing this.
I myself will use this self-quarantine period to challenge myself with more difficult rudiments! It's a difficult time for everyone, but why not take a step forward as a drummer?
Thank you for reading to the end.
