There are probably many women out there who have aspirations to play the acoustic guitar and are thinking about buying their own.
I was the same back in high school. I admired guitar girls and started out by buying a beginner’s set. Now, I’ve carefully selected some acoustic guitars that I wish I had known about back then.
The most important thing to me when choosing an acoustic guitar is how it looks.
If the guitar matches your taste or resembles one used by an artist you admire, it will motivate you to practice more, and you’ll naturally grow more attached to your own guitar.
Sound House is especially great for beginners. They offer a wide variety of acoustic guitars at affordable prices. From their selection, I’ll be introducing some recommended models.
↓↓↓ Acoustic guitars in the ¥10,000 to ¥60,000 range that I highly recommend for beginners ↓↓↓
PLAYTECH / AD28C Black – Dreadnought Cutaway Type
This is a classic dreadnought-style acoustic guitar. The cutaway design adds a cute and appealing touch, and the matte finish gives it a calm, refined look. Both the playability and the sound quality are so good, you wouldn’t believe it’s in the ¥10,000 range. It’s perfect for those who want to try singing and playing guitar for the first time.
It also comes in three colors: Black, Natural, and Sunburst, so find one that suits your style. Personally, I love the band SHISHAMO, and since Asako Miyazaki plays a Gibson J-45 Black, so I’m all about the Black version.
PLAYTECH / AO35 Custom Sunburst
This one’s a higher-quality acoustic guitar, a step up from the basic models. It has an OM-style body, which is relatively compact. The slim body gives it a stylish appearance that’s really appealing.
The sound has a rich, elegant tone that exceeds expectations for its price. It’s the kind of guitar that makes you want to keep playing for hours. It really makes you want to cover Aimyon’s songs like “Marigold” or “Harunohi.”
YAMAHA / FS830 Natural Acoustic Guitar
This guitar has a compact body and a slim neck. The rounded shape gives it a cute and charming look. It’s easy to handle even for people with smaller frames, and it won’t tire your hands easily.
The sound is beautiful, with a bright and sparkly tone that really stands out. It’s the kind of acoustic guitar that makes you want to bring it into your living room and start singing and playing on the spot.
YAMAHA / LL6 ARE Electro-Acoustic Guitar
This one is from Yamaha’s L Series, the same kind used by Sonoko Inoue. If you played her song “Taisetsu na Kimi e” with this guitar, you might just win everyone’s heart. Since it’s a jumbo-sized body, it delivers a more powerful and resonant sound. The fact that you can get a guitar of this quality in the ¥50,000 range is amazing.
RECORDING KING / RDS7 Tobacco Sunburst – Dreadnought Type
This one has a vintage-inspired design. It gives off a slightly rugged vibe, but it also has a cool and cute look, kind of like the guitar used by Yumo Sakaguchi. With its large body, it produces a strong, bold sound, making it perfect for those who want to strum with energy and presence. It’s hard to believe you can get this level of sound quality from a guitar in the ¥10,000 range.

TAKAMINE / DMP551C WR Electro-Acoustic Guitar
This is a well-known acoustic guitar from TAKAMINE that has been famously played by Sakurako Ohara—someone almost every guitar girl has looked up to at some point. Yumo Sakaguchi has also played a TAKAMINE guitar during street performances, making this brand a true icon in the guitar girl world.
What really stands out is its luxurious look. The wine red color is especially stunning—just irresistible. Just holding this guitar makes you feel like the singer-songwriter you've always admired. The sound is light, clear, and perfect for singing and playing. Since it’s an electro-acoustic with a built-in preamp, it’s also ideal for live performances in venues like live houses.
Michael Kelly Guitars / Forte Port X Natural
This is a striking, stylish electro-acoustic guitar with some serious visual impact. The body features quilted maple, giving it a shimmering, water-like appearance that adds a touch of elegance and luxury.
One reason this guitar is also great for beginners is the placement of the sound hole that’s on the player’s side. This lets you hear your playing more clearly and helps improve your performance. Whether you’re relaxing at home, admiring its looks, or performing on stage, it’s a wonderfully versatile guitar.
It’s the kind of guitar that makes you want to sing and play songs like Aimer’s “Kataomoi” or “Hoshikuzu Venus.”
Tagima Guitars / FRONTIER EQ
This guitar has a beautiful appearance that brings out the warmth of the wood! When you hold it, it fits perfectly in your body, and it’s incredibly lightweight. The sound is bright and sparkling, making it a great match for singing. Personally, I imagine this guitar being played by Totakeke from Animal Crossing. Its gentle tones would surely bring peace and comfort to anyone who hears it. Since it’s a cutaway, playing the higher frets is also a breeze.
This is an electro-acoustic guitar, so you can plug it into an amp or a mixer and add effects. It produces everything from crystal-clear tones to more wavering, tremolo-like sounds.
So far, I’ve introduced models that are focused on appearance, but if you’re curious about different body shapes or price, check out this page for more on how to choose the right guitar!
