Hello everyone!
Do you want something good to kill time? Or maybe you want to train your brain. If you do, playing the ukulele will be best suited for you!
You can play and sing by yourself or you can play and your friend can sing along. You can also try playing in an ensemble or you can simply play a melody with it.
Don’t you want to say, “What am I doing in my free time? I'm just playing a musical instrument.”? Compared to a guitar, playing the ukulele is much easier and the price is much lower. It’s best suited for starting it just because you are interested in it!
This time, I will show you some tones which I think are easy to play.

Moliendo café (Coffee Rumba) / Sachiko Nishida
This masterpiece is covered by many singers, but actually, it suits very well with ukuleles! Until now, I’ve only listened to ukulele cover versions, so I thought this one’s original is played in a ukulele solo…
Just playing in chords is not that hard, so I recommend playing it in chords and singing together! Not just that, when you become a super technical ukulele player, you can also play like Toshiki Kondo. It can be really technical, if you want.
Tsubasa wo Kudasai/ Akai Tori
This is also a well not piece! I think it’s not that hard to play, because the tempo is pretty slow.
This song is one of the most typical graduation songs in Japan, so those from any generation should know this tune. Maybe your grandchildren can sing along while you are playing it by the ukulele. Isn't it fun to think of?
↑This one is for solo playing, so it’s a bit more difficult than chord playing, but this tab is made for beginners, so please try it! (There’s a beginner’s mark on it, so it should be fine lol.)
Tomoki Suzuki’s Youtube channel has a lot of ukulele lessons for beginners and videos in which he plays the ukulele, so I think it will be helpful for you to learn how to play the ukulele. He does really basic lessons and also videos with lots of techniques, so I really enjoy watching his channel.

Here Comes the Sun / The Beatles
Of course, music from Japanese artists is nice, but those from foreign lands are nice too, isn’t it?
It has a simple but simultaneously warm tone, and the acoustic sound stands out in the original. That’s why I think it suits the ukulele tone.
I think it’s nice to start with a tune, which is beloved by people all over the world.
Something / The Beatles
Paul McCartney from the Beatles sometimes plays this song by ukulele at concerts.
Its playing speed is not so fast, so I think it’s relatively easy to play! Paul plays the ukulele sometimes, so you might want to check him, if you love ukuleles.
How was it? I hope you enjoyed it! Those were my personal favorite masterpieces in 1960s and 70s, which are easy to play by the ukulele.
