Today's theme is ... Pegs!
Pegs? This is also an indispensable part for guitars and basses.
There are various types as well. Manufacturers include Glover and Schaller.

I agree. HIP SHOT is also well-known for bass pegs.

For the bass, are there a lot of people replacing pegs?
I wonder? Some people may be picky about pegs, but ... I think they’re only replaced when something goes wrong.
I exchange pegs quite a lot. I feel that the tuning of the pegs on the Tesco Spectrum 5 could be better.
Ah, unfortunately, Bizarre Guitars are like that.
Most of the time, I replace them with GOTOH locking pegs.

That's what modern pegs have become (lol)
Yep. Oh, and the Epiphone Les Paul Type I use with The Showas. Occasionally, when I ordered only the pegs to replace them myself, the diameter of the hole in the head turns out to be different (lol). I had to widen the hole and install the pegs.
Did you do it yourself?(lol) It seems like you'd give up when the hole diameter is different.
After all it is better to have a Repairman do it...
If you need to modify the guitar... If you are not confident, you should ask a repairman. I think it’s interesting to try it on your own.
My favorite pegs are the locking type, and the buttons are plastic… pearl white! I think they look great on the Tesco Spectrum 5!.
It seems that the plastic parts look good (lol)
How about you?
I agree. As I said earlier, I don't really care too much about it ... It’s the kind of part that I only look at when something goes wrong. However, like the bridge that was the theme of an earlier chat we had, pegs are also parts where the tension of the strings is applied, so I think that the effect on the sound cannot be ignored.
That's true. They do touch the strings directly.
But when it comes to pegs, I'm still concerned about tuning accuracy. If the tuning is off, I would check the pegs. But, I think small pegs are a good choice.
If you have a large pegs, the tuning will shift if you hit something on the stage, and if you lean the bass against something, the tuning will also shift.
Well, even if they’re small, tuning will be off when the pegs shift, and it's a story to be careful (lol) This part is not the only one either. You can say the same about any part, but if they’re made well, they’re usually okay (lol)
Yeah, it would be nice if it could adjust the torque.
By the way, with bass pegs, there is a type that allows you to down-tune instantly. They’re also installed on my bass. Are they still around? I don't hear much about them lately.

Ah, those. You don't see anyone using them in the guitar world.
Well, in the first place, my favorite headless basses doesn't have pegs (lol).
Wow!!! By the way, it appears that GOTOH is located in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture.
