Channel strips are the most efficient tools in the mixing world. All basic processing, EQ, compression, gate, etc. All this in one modular unit that is easy to manage. Choosing which channel strip to use when mixing can be a dilemma for engineers. Channel strip plug-ins based on vintage consoles can sound great. However, this can create the inconvenience of being limited to a specific acoustic color. On the other hand, modular channel strip plug-ins give you the flexibility to experiment with a wide range of processor combinations as you mix, but different processors don't necessarily work ideally with each other.
