A simplified package containing a serial number will be delivered to your specified address. You will register the serial number on the manufacturer's website and download the installer.

Even before digital audio became mainstream in recording, Solid State Logic / SSL has consistently pursued the perfect analog console, incorporating faithful reproduction of the original sound, sharp EQ, and dynamics processing.

The clear and sharp EQ curves, transient-capturing compressor, and master bus/stem control embody the SSL sound, making it a mixing console that everyone has seen at least once, and it has been adopted by studios worldwide.

The Waves SSL 4000 Collection includes plugins for both the E Series and its successor, the G Series. While the plugins look very similar, there are significant differences in specifications.

E-Channel/EQ: Constant EQ curve. Switchable between shelving and bell curves. The EQ gain models the ""Black Knob"" 242, with a maximum of ±18dB. This provides the ideal SSL sound for pop and rock.

G-Channel/EQ: An EQ curve where the Q is sharply variable depending on the amount of boost/cut. ""LMF/3"" and ""HMFx3"" provide extreme EQ changes by multiplying the high/low-mid frequencies by 3/dividing them. Modeling the 383 G-EQ allows for a more aggressive EQ with higher EQ gain and a gentler Q.

While the dynamics specifications are common to both, there are subtle differences: the E-Channel has a Dyn S-C button that changes the filter and EQ to a sidechain EQ, while the G-Channel's FLT Dyn S-C only enables the EQ. Both are options that can be used for simple de-essing.

Both have their own suitable uses, and neither is inherently superior, but the G-Channel has a punchier midrange, making it suitable for tracks where this frequency range is critical, such as vocals and guitars.

The SSL sound has become so ubiquitous that it's safe to say you hear it almost every day. The SSL 4000 Collection recreates Solid State Logic's top-of-the-line channel strip and bus compressor as a plugin.

色んなプラグインを使ってみると、求めるものが明確になってきます。
録り音が良いという条件ですが
①卓のチャンネルストリップ要素〔基礎EQ＋コンプ／ゲート〕
②調味料や隠し味〔アナロググルー感、サチュレーション〕
③空間演出〔ディレイ、リバーブ他〕
その中の①をシンプル且つ素早く8割まで持って行けます。
実機は持っていませんが、宅録ではSSL/SIXを常時使用していますのでSSLのチャンネルストリップへの信頼度は別格。その補正をプラグインで行うイメージです。
コンプは別途かけるほうが多いですが、全トラックに挿して、一度2mixを仕上げた後で、足りない分だけ他のプラグインで補っていく・・というのも手です。
録り音が良ければいい程、SSLが好きになっていくのは、余計な雑味なくスッキリと素材の良さを生かすからでしょうかね。
とにかくコレと同じWAVESのNLSがあれば、後はMIX作業ならDAW付属品でも十分勝負できますよ。
マスタリングなら、IzotopeとIKで。
