Waves Nx uses innovative technology developed by Waves to recreate the natural depth, reflections, and expansive stereo sound of a real studio speaker on your headphones, transforming your headphones into a reliable mixing/monitoring tool. The sound does not simply resonate in your head on a flat surface, but everything stands up as a three-dimensional sound image, just like in the real world. Simply insert it into your master bus and everything in your mix will be spaced out, as if you were sitting in the sweet spot of a professional mix room. Waves Nx is a bridge between two monitoring environments: speakers and headphones. You'll get the same depth and stereo spread as if you were listening through external speakers, so you'll be able to more accurately compare and understand how the mix on your headphones will be reproduced on the speakers. In addition, by providing a natural listening environment that feels like being in a real room, monitoring with headphones for long periods of time becomes easier on the ears and more comfortable. With Waves Nx, you can also monitor 5.0/5.1 surround with stereo headphones. Truly revolutionary surround mixing with headphones. The great thing is that Nx doesn't color the sound at all. The output is the exact mix you want. The only change is that it allows for more accurate mixing/monitoring through headphones. Furthermore, with Waves' real-time head tracking technology, your computer's webcam or Nx Head Tracker (soon to be released) unit will accurately track the direction and position of your head, creating a realistic virtual mix room that reflects changes in head position.
