Phantom EQ points only found on schematics Waves Scheps 73 is the EQ and mic preamp section of the classic 1073 console, developed in conjunction with world-renowned mixing engineer Andrew Scheps (Adele, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath, Lana Del Rey, Metallica, Jay-Z). The EQ and mic preamp section of the classic 1073 console is modeled after the EQ and mic preamp section of the classic 1073 console.

It is compatible with SoundGrid, AAX Native, Audiosuite, Audio Units, and VST3.

Thanks to Waves' advanced technology, the Scheps 73 EQ faithfully recreates the behavior of the original 1073 unit, with intersecting bands, fixed 12kHz highs, frequency-controllable mids, boost or cut lows, and an 18dB/oct high-pass filter. It also has a rare 10kHz mid-range EQ. The 1073 also features a rare 10kHz mid-range EQ, which was found in the original 1073 schematic but was unavailable and could only be operated with the rare 1078 channel strips modeled as plug-ins. An MS matrix by Waves has also been added, allowing separate EQ processing for each mid and side.

Innovative procedures were employed in modeling the Marinair transformer, a vital feature of the 1073's sound quality. Waves took great care to capture every sonic character of the 1073, right down to harmonic distortion. Andrew Schepps fine-tuned the overtones to perfection, resulting in a beautifully authentic saturation.

Scheps 73 offers the warm tones that only legendary studio hardware can produce, from recording to mixing to mastering.
