These closed-type headphones feature a liquid crystal polymer film diaphragm. They are reference studio monitors that meet the rigorous demands of studio use.

■ Liquid Crystal Polymer Film Diaphragm
- By developing a casting film using a highly ductile liquid crystal polymer varnish, we were able to achieve both high rigidity and high internal loss across a wide frequency range, while also achieving the necessary thinness and strength to withstand molding, resulting in sound that is faithful to the original sound.
■ Ultra-Wideband HD Driver Unit
- The HD (High Definition) driver unit is capable of reproducing frequencies from low to ultra-high frequencies with a single unit, and the diaphragm uses liquid crystal polymer film. Furthermore, the shape was determined and adopted after simulating hundreds of shape patterns and repeatedly listening to actual listening. Furthermore, the magnet that drives the diaphragm uses a 360kJ/m3 high-magnetic-force neodymium magnet, which enables wide-band reproduction from 5Hz to 80,000Hz.
■High-purity 7N-OFC Litz wire minimizes music signal transmission loss
・The signal transmission cable uses 7N-grade (99.99999%) high-purity OFC (Oxygen-Free Copper). Signal loss during transmission is minimized, minimizing sound degradation.
■Noise-isolating ear pads for superior sound insulation
・The ear pads, which have a significant impact on sound insulation, feature newly developed noise-isolating ear pads. The optimal shape was determined through dozens of ergonomic prototypes and repeated testing. The vertically elongated ear pads effectively cover the top and bottom of the ears, where gaps are likely to form, while the narrow width around the ears reduces the risk of hair or other objects getting caught, achieving superior sound insulation. Additionally, the ear pads are cushioned with low-resilience urethane foam, which conforms to the shape of the ears and further enhances sound insulation.
■ Housing gasket prevents unnecessary sound leakage
- By inserting a gasket into the gap between the driver unit and the housing that covers it, we have prevented unnecessary sound leakage while also improving sound insulation from the outside. We have also made the acoustically necessary housing openings as small as possible, thoroughly pursuing a balance between sound quality and sound insulation.
■ Lightweight magnesium alloy housing absorbs unnecessary vibrations
- For the housing, which is a particularly large component of headphones, we use magnesium alloy, which is said to have the highest specific strength (ratio of strength to density) of any practical metal. This has made it possible to thin the housing, achieving a weight reduction of approximately 10%* for the entire headphone lineup compared to previous models. Furthermore, unnecessary vibrations are suppressed, reproducing smooth bass response and clear mid- and high-range sounds.

当たりヘッドフォンです

他店での購入になりますがDTM用に買いました。
かなり良いヘッドフォンで超オススメです！
確かに数日間、投げ捨てようかと思うほど
固く狭く、低域もモコモコしていて
高域も刺さる感じで最悪な音でしたが
エージングCD（XLOをモノラル変換）と
Wave Geneでピンクノイズを大音量で流し続けている内に
びっくりするくらい鮮明で良い音に化けました。
プロの音でも上手い下手がハッキリわかるほどです。
900STでは低域の調整に悩まされましたが
Z1000では調整がやりやすくなって満足しています。
ただし、慣らしには本当に根気と時間がかかります。

低音が魅力なヘッドホンです

MDR-Z1000 サウンドハウス様で購入した直輸入版）
購入から6ヶ月程立ち、エージングもこなれた状態での所感です。
MDR-Z1000はスタジオ用モニターヘッドホンであるという位置づけですが、これは個人的には微妙な印象です。
率直には、モニターヘッドホンはやはりMDR-CD900STが好みであり、モニターヘッドホンにリスニング要素も加味したヘッドホンとしてはMDR-SA5000、K701or K702が好みです。
MDR-Z系は主にDJ向けに特化したブランディングであると思いますし、MDR-Z1000もそのカテゴリーに含まれていると感じます。
MDR-Z1000は100Hz～200Hz近辺が何か意図的に強調されている感じがあり、楽曲によっては、その周波数帯に低域が集中している場合、異常なほど低音が目立ちます。
幸いなことに、低音の質は優れていて粗悪なブーミーさは感じることはないのですが、鈍重で厚くかつ強い音圧なため、出過ぎていると感じるところがあります。
他の帯域をマスクはしないまでも低域に引っ張られて少し曇った印象を与えてしまうため、邪魔していると感じられることにあり、再生ソースやアンプの特性によっては低音過多な印象を感じざるを得ません。
密閉型のMDR-CD900STの全域でフラットなモニター特性と、開放型のMDR-SA5000の伸びやかきらびやかな透明な中高音に、質の良い芯のある低域が少し加われば、MDR-Z1000は非常に好みななモニターであったと思います。ただ、オールマイティとは言えませんが、楽曲によっては例えばアシッドジャズ系など驚くほど魅力的な低音を聞かせてくれるMDR-Z1000は良く出来たヘッドホンだと思います。

長年使用してきたMDR-Z900を嫁にとられたので購入。
正直、ヘッドホンのレビューはとても難しいです。
何を基準とするかが人により異なります。
感覚的なところだけ書きます。
コストと質のバランスは
CD900STになっちゃった/Z900もう売ってないよりもかなり悪い。
Z900の空気感が好きで、CD900の突き刺す高域、接近した鳴り方が疲れる人にはお勧め。中低域の押し出しはZ1000が一番強いかも。
しかし、ギター、ベースの初心～中級プレイヤーならCD900の方がが有用です。Z1000では物足りなさにさいなまれるか、勘違いします。巧くなったら使うのはあり。
高域の情報量がちいと少ないですが、個々のパートにおける音量バランスの調整に非常に役立つ。
とはいえ、空間を感じ取れるいい虫眼鏡って感じ。
