[New Product Review] SENNHEISER / IE 300 In-Ear Canal Earphones for Listening

SENNHEISER, one of Europe's top three brands for headphones and earphones, has recently released their IE 300 from the IE series earphones.

Lately, there are a lot of high-priced earphone models equipped with the balanced armature (BA) driver and the hybrid driver that combine BA and dynamic drivers. However, a characteristic that SENNHEISER has always used is the dynamic driver for their in-ear canal earphone models that can be seen in models such as the IE 80, IE 800 and in professional in-ear monitors the IE 40 PRO, the IE 400 PRO, and the IE 500 PRO.

This IE 300 is newly released.

The IE 300 is equipped with the '7mm Extra Wide Band (XWB)', the same driver unit that's in the IE 800 but this driver unit has been improved for the IE 300.
In addition, SENNHEISER has generously equipped the IE 300 with their original acoustic technologies the Resonator Chamber and Acoustic Back Volume.

As I opened the package and wore the earphones, I found they were so compact and light. The shape is designed to fit to your ears and they are very comfortable to wear.

The cable is an MMCX detachable type.
The right earphone has a red marker to clearly indicate left and right. The detachable cable uses the gold-plated Fidelity + MMCX connector made from carefully selected materials like other SENNHEISER earphones. Since the terminal area has a unique shape, compatibility with other companies' cables has not been confirmed.

Added accessories include 6 pairs of silicone and foam ear tips in small/medium/large sizes, one protective case, and a cleaning tool.

When I tried the IE 300, I could hear a natural and three-dimensional sound field and the delicate expressions in low-range as well as SENNHEISER's warm sound. I could comfortably listen to the vibration of the double bass strings and felt as if a live performance was being played right in front of me.
The vocals sounded glossy, and the tone was mellow and pleasant to my ears.
I could clearly hear each note of the guitar arpeggio and hi-hat, and these earphones were excellent in breaking down the parts for each instrument.

I happened to listen to a Canadian band called Holy Fuck when I tried the IE 300. The vocals with reverb, the subtle touch of the hi-hat, the deep bass-range of the synth, and the sound of each part were three-dimensionally and expressively reproduced.
I felt the IE 300 never exaggerated or added an accent to the sound too much, but they expressed the character of the performance and each instrument very well.
