This time, I will introduce some difficult songs that advanced keyboard players will want to learn to play. Also, I will introduce some cool videos, so please check them out!
1,Yorushika / “Dakara Boku wa Ongaku wo yameta” ("That’s why I quit music")
The first song is "That’s why I quit music" by Yorushika, from when he was playing as Vocalo P. It’s a beautiful song that has a refreshing feeling although it is a bit emotionally painful. The piano stands out, and the keyboard solo is a little difficult. There is also a cool video of this song by “cake-san”, who plays piano for HoneyWorks. Please check it out!
2,Zutto Mayonaka de ii no ni. / “Byoshin wo Kamu” (Bite the Second Hand)
This is also composed by Vocalo P above. The piano intro is really cool! Not only the piano, but the guitar solo is also very cool, making it a perfect song for band performances. I also found a cool video with a different arrangement by “Marashii-san” who is a well-known pianist.
3,aiko / “Atashi no Mukou” (“Beyond Me”)
Aiko has a lot of songs that have difficult keyboard parts. Among them, I felt "Beyond Me" was particularly difficult to cover. The fast tempo and keyboard solos make it difficult anyway... It's difficult and the keyboard solo is really very conspicuous, so this is a song I think advanced keyboard players should try.
4,YUKI / COSMIC BOX
YUKI has a lot of songs that are difficult to play on the whole, and this song I found to be particularly difficult. Especially the piano solo in the outro is intense. I myself have some experience playing this live, but it took me a while to learn it.
5,Tokyo JIHEN / “Toumei Ningen” (“Invisible Man”)
Tokyo JIHEN is a band that any advanced player wants to cover. Every part is highly difficult and learning the songs are difficult. Within Tokyo JIHEN songs, this one has a keyboard section that stands out making it difficult in my opinion. The keyboard part during the chorus is especially difficult as it is fast… it seems that my fingers cannot keep up. I found a cool video of this one as well. Wouldn’t it be fun if you could play this!?
■ Recommended expert-level keyboards
NORD / NORD ELECTRO 6D 73 combo keyboard
NORD, the desire of any keyboardist. Anyway, the sound is outstanding. It seems most professional keyboardists have a NORD keyboard. The 73-key keyboard is convenient to carry, and will almost never leave you looking for more keys.
ROLAND / FA-08 88-key keyboard synthesizer
Marashi-san, who I introduced in the video above, also uses the FA-08. It's a relatively inexpensive keyboard when it comes to 88-key models. It is recommended for those who also want a full piano sound for performance on stage. It has many preset tones, making it a great choice for playing modern band songs
KORG / SV-2S 88-key stage vintage piano.
A recently launched silver version of the SV series. It is also used by Narita Haneda from Passepied. Equipped with a vacuum tube, it features a warm sound. It’s recommended for those who want to use mainly the organ and piano!.
This time I briefly introduced some songs and musical instruments I recommend for advanced keyboard players. Why don't you check them out!?
