■ Hiroshi Takeuchi's Profile
When he was 24, he was amazed by the sound of the shakuhachi, and entered the world of shakuhachi. He learned about modern shakuhachi from Takuya Iwata, the winner of the International Shakuhachi Competition, and then went on to develop activities under the theme of "Shakuhachi at hand" and "traditional innovation". He has collaborated with Western musical instrument players and world-wide calligraphy artists, and participated in many other public works and events. In 2019, he received the Mie Prefectural Culture Rookie Award. He has also held lectures and MCed events from the perspective of a former civil servant and a late starter.
Looking at his profile, he seems like a very unique shakuhachi player!
