Hey everyone! It’s Kaoru the composer!
Do you know the amplifier brand Victory Amps?
Recently, Sound House started carrying this brand, and let me tell you... it's so cool. Design is important when choosing gear, after all.
But I thought to myself, "What kind of company are they? What about the sound and functionality?" So I decided to look into it!
I found some really interesting things about these amps and I would love to share them with all of you!
■ What is Victory Amps?
Victory Amps is a guitar amplifier manufacturer that was established in the UK in 2013.
The official name is "Victory Amplifiers".
They have a team of skilled engineers and craftsmen working together, from design to manufacturing.
The key features of their products include:
- Unique design
- Compact amp heads
- Simple usability
- Flexible functionality
- High-quality sound with no compromises
Martin Kidd, a famous figure in the UK amp scene, is the man behind the design. The design was created with a modern boutique approach in mind.
Victory Amps' products are handmade with great attention to detail. Every part, from the caps, resistors, pots, and switches, to custom-designed transformers, is carefully selected for high quality.
The brand has gained even more attention due to the numerous prestigious awards it has received.
Victory Amps is beloved by many professional guitarists, including Bugra Sisman, Billy Campbell, and Richie Kotzen.
■ Victory Amps Features
Victory Amps is known for its compact and highly convenient design, while still delivering a full-tube, thick sound. Many of their models feature power switching and built-in attenuators, making them ideal for home use as well.
Let's highlight some of the recommended products that are available at Sound House!
The RD1 is a signature model amp designed in collaboration with UK-based guitarist and YouTuber Rob Chapman. Its striking red design is very eye-catching.
The control panel is simple but allows for a wide range of sound shaping with Gain, Contour, and Master controls.
By the way, when the Contour is turned clockwise, it increases the low end and reduces the midrange, offering unique tonal flexibility.
With the dimensions of W263 x H170 x D195mm (including protrusions) and weighing approximately 6kg, it's lightweight and portable enough to carry with one hand.
The dual EL84 power section, with fixed bias, can be switched between full power mode (max 28W) and low power mode (only 2W). This makes it suitable for both live stages and home use.
The RD1 also features a dedicated mix control for the effects loop, allowing you to output loop effects as desired.
Additionally, it comes with a custom padded carry bag for easy transport!
This is the black version of the RD1 with the same specifications.
The Sheriff 22 features a luxurious gold and black color scheme, making it visually striking.
Input/Volume I offers a clean and crunch sound reminiscent of 60s blues players.
Input/Volume II provides a hot-rodded overdrive sound from the 70s-80s.
These sounds are categorized, allowing for intuitive operation to achieve your ideal tone.
The independent speaker output is only 0.3 watts, making it perfect for environments where high volume is impractical, such as in apartments, while still delivering authentic sound.
Additionally, you can switch between settings using the included footswitch.
Victory Amps / RK50 Richie Kotzen Head
Richie Kotzen Signature Amp Head
The Richie Kotzen Signature Amp Head was designed according to Richie Kotzen's wishes, featuring a simple one-channel setup. By controlling the guitar's volume, you can easily switch between clean tones, crunchy sounds, and distorted lead tones.
It includes a foot-switchable boost feature. The control panel offers both reverb and tremolo, allowing you to achieve an ambient, full-bodied sound.
The speaker damping on the rear panel can be set to "on" to enhance the low-end response and the resonance of the cabinet/speaker. When set to "off", you get a more present sound with greater clarity.
The V112VR is a guitar amp cabinet that features a Celestion/Vintage 30 speaker and a vibrant red finish, making it a perfect match for the RD-1 both in sound and appearance.
Equipped with a powerful 12-inch driver (ceramic, 50 oz magnet), it delivers clear highs, punchy mids, and a strong low end.
The speaker baffle inside is tilted back by 2-3 degrees to ensure the sound reaches your ears better.
This high-quality model is designed with the player's perspective in mind.
That's a wrap-up on Victory Amps. These amps aren't just about their great looks—they also deliver impressive functionality!
While they may be a bit more expensive, they offer so much more in terms of value and performance. Definitely worth checking out!
