TASCAM / MODEL 24

The Model 24 is a new recording solution that can be used flexibly as a multi-track recorder, mixer, and audio interface for a wide range of situations, including live performances, rehearsals, and recording, meeting the diverse needs of musicians and engineers.

The simple, classic design of an analog console, featuring 100mm faders for precise volume control, user-friendly EQ and AUX knobs, and a single-knob compressor for natural compression, provides intuitive operation.

■TASCAM's Advanced Recording Technology
The Model 24 is equipped with a multi-track recording engine that generously incorporates TASCAM's long-cultivated recording technology, allowing simultaneous recording of 24 tracks to an SD card, simultaneous playback of 22 tracks, and simultaneous punch-in/out of 8 tracks. It also features TASCAM's renowned studio-quality 16-channel mic preamps for high-quality, clear sound.

■Flexible Connectivity
The Model 24 is equipped with 22 analog input channels, consisting of 20 balanced inputs (12 mono and 4 stereo) and 1 unbalanced stereo input. The unbalanced stereo input is equipped with a Bluetooth® receiver, allowing you to connect mobile devices like smartphones and play background music. It also functions as a 22-channel USB audio interface, allowing you to record multitracks directly to your DAW.

■Record
The Model 24 is equipped with a multitrack recording engine that generously incorporates TASCAM's recording technology, cultivated over many years. It supports simultaneous recording of a total of 24 tracks, simultaneous playback of 22 tracks, and even simultaneous punch-in/out of 8 tracks. It is ideal for a variety of environments, including live concerts, rehearsals, and recording.

■Mix
With 22 analog input channels, it can meet the needs of a variety of venues. The user-friendly controls, including studio-quality microphone preamps, a one-knob compressor for natural compression, a 3-band equalizer for versatile sound shaping, and 100mm faders for precise volume adjustment, enable accurate and fast mixing. The intuitive design eliminates the need for complex menus and preset searches, providing a high-quality analog sound and a user-friendly mixing environment for stage and studio use.

■Connect
The low-latency, ASIO-compatible USB audio interface engine enables multi-track recording to your DAW. The MODE switch allows you to select the input source with one touch, depending on the application—mixing, playback, recording—for a smooth workflow without the need for tedious cable reconnections or level resets.

■Channel Surfing
・Channels 1 and 2 are equipped with XLR and TRS inputs, as well as insert inputs and outputs. Additionally, it features a preamp gain control (with signal/overload LED), a 100Hz low-cut switch, and a line/instrument switch that supports high-impedance (Hi-Z) inputs.

The MODE switch is used to select input sources. LIVE mode accepts signals from the analog inputs, PC mode accepts signals from the DAW, and MTR mode accepts playback signals from the SD card.

Directly below the MODE switch is a one-knob compressor that allows for instant adjustments even during a live performance. It also features a three-band semi-parametric EQ (with adjustable mid-frequency) to assist with shaping vocal and guitar sounds. (Channels 1-12)

Three AUX send knobs (Mon1, Mon2, FX) allow output to external monitors, effects, etc.

The PAN knob, REC button, and MUTE button are located above the 100mm fader section. All input channels also have assignment switches for main mix, subgroup, and PFL.

*The line/instrument switch is only equipped on channels 1 and 2.
*A one-knob compressor and a three-band semi-parametric EQ are equipped on channels 1 through 12.

-Channels 21 and 22 offer stereo RCA inputs, 3.5 mm stereo mini inputs, and Bluetooth connectivity, ideal for input from mobile devices. Aux sends can also be used to output to Mon1 and Mon2.

■Master and Commander
The Model 24's master section, like the input channels, features 100 mm faders for controlling outputs such as the main mix, monitor, and submix, as well as mute and assignment switches. The upper row of the master section is equipped with the digital effects processor acclaimed in the TASCAM PORTASTUDIO series, offering 16 easy-to-use presets for various applications, including reverb, delay, chorus, and flanger. Additionally, the unit is equipped with a control panel for operating MTR functions and a 7-band graphic EQ with assignability to main and monitor. The analog output panel is equipped with external output terminals for main, sub, and monitor, as well as headphone and footswitch jacks.

■Make Tracks
The MTR function, which incorporates TASCAM's extensive recording technology, is intuitive and easy to use. Recorded audio can be saved to an SD card as individual tracks (monaural WAV files) and mixed down on the Model 24 itself. Recorded WAV files can also be imported into your DAW for editing and mastering.

■Live and Let DAW
With studio-quality microphone preamps, the Model 24 can function not only as an MTR but also as a high-quality USB audio interface. Simultaneous recording of 24 channels to a DAW is possible, allowing for backup recording in the DAW in addition to recording to an SD card.
It also supports simultaneous playback of 22 channels from a DAW, enabling analog hardware mixing.
