■ Turret board hand-wired construction, using only air wiring, without using any printed circuit boards. The hand-wired manufacturing process, which required an incredibly long and laborious process entirely by hand and a high level of technical skill, was once found only in limited edition or high-end models today. VOX's Hand-Wired series utilizes this same technique, and also incorporates a generous selection of custom parts. The artistically finished air wiring perfectly transmits the guitarist's delicate touch, the subtle changes in the guitar's signal, and the characteristics and natural amplification of the vacuum tubes to the speaker without any interference.
■Preamplifier/Power Amplifier and Rectifier Section This is a true all-tube amp, featuring vacuum tubes throughout. The preamp uses three ECC83/12AX7 tubes, the power tubes four EL84 tubes, and the rectifier section is equipped with a GZ34. Its fat, warm sound is truly the epitome of vacuum tube sound.
■ It features two channels: a traditional VOX top boost channel and a simple normal channel. The top boost channel delivers the classic AC30 sound and now features a new HOT/COOL switch. When set to COOL, it produces a classic top boost sound. When in HOT mode, the tone circuit is bypassed, allowing for a purer sound and more ample gain. Switching between HOT and COOL can be controlled with the included foot switch VFS1, allowing for smooth switching and instantaneous adjustment to the optimal boost. The other channel, the Normal channel, has only a volume control and allows for a more natural and clean tube sound. This channel also features a BRIGHT switch for even more brilliance.
