■ This power attenuator reduces the output of your tube amp to less than half its power. It adjusts the volume and sound pressure without compromising the rich tone and drive of your tube amp. Recommended for those who want to experience the drive of a tube amp at home, or for those who own a 100-watt-class vintage amp without a master volume.
■ This power attenuator is compatible with tube amps up to 150 watts/16 or 8 ohms. It uses a large internal resistor to convert the signal from the amp into electricity and heat, reducing the output from the speaker. When the GB-VI is connected, the amp's output is reduced by 50% (around 50W for a 100W amp). You can further reduce the output to 0 using the front panel knob.
■By turning up the amp's volume nearly to its maximum to create power amp saturation and drive, and then using the GB-VI for final volume control, you can enjoy tube amp drive at home, in the studio, or even live.
■It also comes equipped with a headphone output (no built-in amp/speaker simulator) and a line output, which are ideal for connecting to a rack system or for late-night performances. It can also be used as a dummy load/dummy box.

Note:
*This unit is generally not compatible with 4-ohm output amplifiers. Please note that it is not supported for use with amps or bass amps with an output of 150 watts or more.
*When using only the headphone output, simply connect a speaker to the GB-VI's speaker output to operate silently. The amplifier's output is converted into heat and current by the GB-VI's built-in resistor and fan, and is consumed (when used as a dummy box).
*When using a high-output amplifier with the GB-VI as a dummy load, the GB-VI itself may become quite hot. Please place the GB-VI unit in a well-ventilated location.
*Cannot be used with transistor amplifiers. The same applies to pre-tube/power transistor amplifiers. Please use with amplifiers that use vacuum tubes in the power amplifier, such as pre-transistor/power tube amplifiers.
(Technically, it can also be used with transistor amplifiers, but since transistor amplifiers do not change the sound in the power amplifier section depending on the output volume, they do not require an attenuator like the GB-VI.)
