Tube Preamp/Complimiter/DI Box

■Outline
The Tube MP/C is a tube preamplifier, comp limiter, and DI box. Inside this compact body are two circuits: a tube analog preamplifier and a tube optical compressor. This unit is a hybrid design of solid state and vacuum tube technology, and is extremely low noise. The compressor circuit can be bypassed.

■12AX7 Vacuum Tubes.
There is a 12AX7A vacuum tube in the preamplifier circuit. The gain can be increased by an additional 20dB to overdrive the tube. This allows you to add tube gain to a variety of sounds.

■Optical and tube circuit compressor
The compressor circuit is not a VCA, but a combination of an optical and tube circuit. The compressor is soft-knee. In limit mode, the sound is more compressed, but the transparency and dynamics can be controlled musically.

The optical and tube circuitry provides greater compression with less noise than a VCA circuit compressor. This produces a very natural compression effect.
