PolyTune 3 is the successor to PolyTune 2, the PolyTune series that revolutionized polyphonic tuning. It retains the simplicity of operation, but adds a new Bonafide Buffer function, the company's high-quality buffer. It reduces signal degradation to zero over cable lengths and complex pedal setups, reliably protecting your precious tone and tuning in a single unit.

By shifting the frequency response of the signal entering the tuner circuit to the low frequency range, the measurement range starts from C0 (16.35 Hz). This allows even the low-B of multi-string basses to be measured.

Equipped with an ULTRA BUFFER optimised for bass, switchable between true bypass and bypass.
The Pitchblack XS Bass's ULTRA BUFFER is designed to work in bypass mode, so you can run the tuner over long cables or build it into a large effects board and still maintain the original sound quality. It delivers a sound quality that is both crisp and powerful. You can also switch between True Bypass and ULTRA BUFFER to suit your preference and environment.

The integrated display and footswitch allow the display to be as large as possible in a space-saving 7 cm x 8 cm. The robust, powder-coated enclosure allows the switch to respond wherever you step on it, so it can be used regardless of how you step on it or the direction in which it is placed.

Not only has the display been enlarged, but the number of meter LEDs has been increased for unparalleled visibility. The brightness mode can be changed in two settings, so visibility is never lost in any environment, including dark stages or outdoors where sunlight reflects off the display. The triangular LED indicators on both sides flash when the tuning is right, providing a reassuring and pleasant tuning experience.

Ultra-precise tuning of ±0.1 cents when in strobe mode. This is ideal for professional recording and stage work, where even the smallest error cannot be overlooked.

Four different meter display methods can be selected to suit the player's style. In addition to the orthodox Regular mode, there are also Strobe mode and Half Strobe mode, which indicate pitch changes by the direction and speed of the meter, making it easy to see even the smallest errors, and Mirror mode, in which the two LEDs overlap from left to right towards the centre. The unit is also equipped with a ‘mirror mode’ that overlaps the two LEDs from left to right towards the centre.

確かに音が変わります

PB-MiniのINPUTが抜けやすく使いにくいので買い替え。
自宅では分からなかったけど、スタジオのアンプで音出ししたら明らかに音が変わりました。
今までボヤけてたのが、締まった強い音になった気がします。
コンプかけっぱなしなので、バッファなんて意味ないだろうと思ってましたが、変わるものなんですね。

Polytune3を使用しておりましたが、ボードのスリム化目的でこちらを購入。

正直バッファは使わないかなと期待していませんでしたが、これが自分には直感的に良い感じだなと思えてほんのちょっとの変化ですが一瞬で気にいりました。
もちろんトゥルーバイパスでも使用可能で裏蓋を開けずに切り替えできるのがかなり便利。

視認性はこちらの方が表示が大きくかなり見やすい。
Polytune3は点々文字で表示されるのに対し、コチラは初期型から続くKORGさんらしい表示文字。

精度はPolytune3が0.02とコチラは0.1ですが、その精度差よりもベース域に特化して周波数を拾っているからなのか、しっかり針が触れる感じがしました。
もちろんPolytune3の精度も不満を感じたことはなかったです。

省スペース故にスイッチがら液晶周りのゴムを踏むというのがちょっと怖くて不安なくらいなのと、少々お値段高めですが、それに見合った満足度はありました。

サウンドハウス外での購入ですが、いつもお世話になっているのでオススメとして書いておきます。

Polytune 3からの乗り換えになります。

■使用方法：
ボードの先頭に置いてチューナー兼バッファー兼ミュート機構。

■使用理由：
ボードにペダルを詰め込むにあたり省スペースのチューナーが必要だったから。
YouTubeのKORG公式動画のバッファサウンドが良かったから。

■感想・その他補足：
Polytune 3との比較になります。

良いところは、小型であることとLow-Bのチューニングもしやすいこと、そしてポリフォニック・チューニング・モードがないことと言えます。
ストロボで精度高くチューニングしたいのでポリフォニックはもともと使わないようにしていたのですが、Polytune 3ではストロボのみにできずライブのときに暴発してしまったことがあるので、こちらの方が助かりますね。

加えてPolytune 3では裏蓋を開けないとバッファーのON/OFFが切り替えられず、しかも裏蓋はドライバーではなくトルクレンチを使わないと開けるのに苦労をします。
しかしこれ以外の用途でトルクレンチを使わない人は、このためだけに買うかと言われると…。
Pitchblackであれば背面のスイッチでバッファーの切り替えができるので楽ですね。

一方でPolytune 3の方が明確に勝っている点はDCアウトの存在です。
DCアウトがあれば、あともう1つだけペダルを繋ぎたい、しかしパワーサプライにもう空きがない、という場合に重宝したのですが。

さて肝心のバッファーの音ですが、自分の環境では正直よく分かりませんでした…。
上記の通り購入理由の1つだったんですけどね。
なのでお守りとしてとりあえずONにしています。

なかなかサウンドハウスさんでの取り扱いが始まらないので、某密林（笑）で購入しました。
結論から先言うと、取扱いが始まったら即買いなさい！です。
以下、密林に書いたレビューの転載です。

このチューナーが、とあるSNSで話題になっていまして、メーカーサイトまでチェックし、かなり良さそうだったので、購入してみました。
ファーストインプレッションです。
使いやすい！
タイトル通り、Low-B弦のチューニング中もメーターが安定し、針がフラフラ揺れることもなく、チューニング作業がとてもはかどります。

ペダル全体がスイッチになっているので、踏むときにスイッチを確認しなくても、サッと切り替えができます。
視認性抜群！
青と白のLEDはかなり明るく、暗いところでも、明るいところでも、よく見えます。
コンパクト！
今まで使っていたPolyTune 3との比較写真と、組み込んだエフェクターボード全体をご覧ください。
ウルトラ・バッファー！！
については…
それほど長いケーブルは使用しないので、効果の程はイマイチよくわかりません（笑）
私の使い方だと、トゥルー・バイパスの方が合ってるのかな？
ってなワケで、このチューナーはかなり良い感じです。
ベースのチューニング時、メーターの不安定さにお悩みのあなたは、選択肢に入れてみてはいかがでしょうか？

素晴らしい

今まで使っていたクリップチューナーで、4弦のチューニング（当方ベーシスト）に苦労しており、見た目、機能、いろんなレビューから判断し購入。チューニングがピシャリと決まる感じ、気持ち良い。また、ヴァッファーと言われる初めて聞く音質効果が、嫌味なく音質がクリアになる感じで僕の好みには合っており、更に好感触。ライブでの使用感が未確認なので星四つ。
