YAMAHA / MS101-4 Powered monitor speaker

YAMAHA powered monitor speaker, 4-inch, 20W, 2.1kg, 1 unit.

■ Powered Monitor Speaker, 4-inch, 20W, 2.1kg, 1 unit

■ Main Features

1. Simple operation environment with microphone/line input terminals and controls integrated on the front panel

The newly installed combo jack input at the bottom of the front panel supports not only XLR microphone input but also standard phone jacks. The rear panel line input terminal also features a TRS (3-pole) connector for balanced connection. The controls (power switch, volume, tone control) and combo jack input are positioned for simple and easy operation.

2. Compact yet significantly larger maximum output sound pressure level (115dB SPL)

The MS101-4 employs a bass-reflex design with a 4-inch full-range unit. By placing the bass-reflex port on the rear, the height is reduced by approximately 1.8 cm, resulting in a more compact enclosure. Meanwhile, the newly incorporated 30W power amplifier achieves a maximum output sound pressure level of 115dB SPL, significantly larger than expected for its size. In terms of sound quality, it inherits the clear reference sound of our powered monitor speakers, making it ideal not only for small private studios but also for monitoring electronic instruments and as a communication monitor connecting the stage and mixing console during live performances.

3. Lightweight and robust cabinet and inlet-type power cord for excellent portability

By using lightweight and robust materials for the cabinet, and combining this with a compact size, we have achieved a weight reduction of approximately 0.4 kg (2.5 kg → 2.1 kg). Furthermore, by changing the power cable from a conventional built-in type to an AC inlet, the power cable can now be detached when relocating, making it easier to store in the case's gaps or transport separately, thus improving portability.

4. Supports microphone stand and wall mounting with separately sold optional accessories

The unit has M5 screw holes (2 locations, 60 mm pitch) on the bottom, allowing it to be suspended from the ceiling or mounted on a wall when combined with a separately sold bracket. Furthermore, by using the separately sold microphone stand adapter ""BMS-10A,"" it can also be mounted on a standard microphone stand.
