Backed by next-generation connectivity, UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3 brings a professional mix of rich analog characters from the well-established UAD plug-in, including exclusive titles such as Neve, Fender, Lexicon, and Studer. In addition, it is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 1 and 2 types of UA devices.

・Analog Classics Plus plug-in bundle is included as standard: LA-2A Classic Audio Leveler (Legacy), 1176SE/LN Classic Limiting Amplifiers (Legacy), Pultec Pro EQ (Legacy), Fairchild 670 (Legacy), 610-B Tube Preamp & EQ and other plug-ins that can be used immediately in the mix
・Works with major DAWs (64-bit) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live, etc.

最近のプラグインは、大手のエンジニアでも実機を全部売り払って、デジタルにする人がいるほど、手軽で実機に負けない処理ができると、某楽器店で聞き、こちらを購入するきっかけになりました。
ボクは実機のNEVE５０３３、５０４３、１０７３DPD、５００シリーズのテープイミュレータ、ステレオフィールドエディタなど持っており、プラグイン必要ないぐらい、録りの前に音作りが出来る環境があります。
こちらのお高いサテライトは一台では８発しか刺せず、バスパワーでもありません。
そして９６khまでしかサポートしていないため、１９２kで録った物を編集するにはインターフェースも必要になります。
ボクの場合、録りは実機を使って、スタジオの外での編集時にさらにノートパソコンでプラグインで二重にコンプをかけたり、EQの足りない部分を補正したり、リバーブをかけたりして、元の音を活かして最低限に、ミックスダウンするためだけに使っています。
プラグインしか使っていない場合、かけ録りするわけでしょうか？？？
フルバンドのミックスには最低でも２、３台は必要ではないでしょうか。
だったとしても、実機を買うことを考えれば１００倍安いです。
実機との音の違いについては、一言では表現できません。でもプラグインありだと思います。

高いけど音良くて楽なんだからしょうがない

これ1個では済まないですよ。もう3つ目です。
1084とかCultureVultureとか、DSP占有率が50％を超えているものは当たり前ですが、OCTOなら８つまでしか刺せません。
例えば24トラックのステレオのNeve1084を手に入れるならOctoが3つ必要というわけです。
もちろん、EQだけ刺すわけじゃないので、OCTOで８ステレオトラックに1084（70％） 1176 Rev E（16％） Studer（15％）は刺さりません。1％足りません。（OCTOなら7ステレオトラックが限度）
このように最近のプラグインでEQ-COMP-TAPEを1コアに収めることは難しいので、最近のより質の良いプラグインだけを刺そうと思ったら24コアぐらいは必要です。
リバーブやバスの分を考えると、24コアでも足りません。例えばLexicon 480も50％を超過しているので、1コアあたり1プラグインです。私の環境は32コアですが、それでもネイティブプラグインの様に考えもなしにさせるわけではありません。
大規模なUAD-2システムの導入を考えている方は、一度1トラックに使いそうなプラグインの組み合わせをDSPチャートを見ながら計算してみてください。
