The SPD:ONE series is a new type of digital percussion pad that anyone can easily incorporate into their performance.
The operation is so simple, you can use the 4 knobs on the top panel to select sounds and control effects.
With its compact yet robust body, you can play in a variety of styles, not only with a stick, but also with a hand or a step.
It is also battery-powered and can be easily incorporated into your own instrument settings.
Recommended for drummers, percussionists, guitarists, vocalists, DJs, and other musicians.

非常にシンプルな操作、そして持ち運びやセッティングがしやすいコンパクトな設計です。シリーズのラインナップの中でも、音源をパーカッションサウンドに特化しているのが「SPD::ONE PERCUSSION SPD-1P」。内蔵音源は高音質で、アコースティック楽器とも自然に溶け込みます。パッド部は1つのみ、音色の切り替えやピッチ、エフェクトの調整は全てツマミで調整できます。今までのデジタル・パーカッションはパッド部が複数用意されていたり、音色は事前に作りこんでおくのが一般的でしたが、この「SPD::ONE」シリーズは、ツマミを操作するだけで演奏中でも簡単にコントロールできます。これまでにも様々な種類のデジタルパッドが発売されてきましたが、ここまで手軽に導入できるパッドは初めてだと思います。

生ドラムに組込

生ドラムにハンドクラップ音を組み込みたい。予算は２万円前後。私の希望に合いそうな機材は、ローランドSPD::ONEシリーズとアレシスSAMPLEPAD 4の２択でした。
アレシスは４つのパッド＋１トリガーで、１台だけでも簡易ドラム的に遊べそうで面白そうでしたが、耐久性に一抹の不安…。
かたやローランドの「重い」というレビューを拝見し、金属製の筐体で高耐久であることの裏返しと捉えました。
パッドと音源モジュールが一体なので、耐衝撃は重要かと。
SPD::ONEシリーズの中でハンドクラップ音がプリセットされているのは「ELECTRO」ですが、ツリーチャイム、チャイナシンバル等の音もどうせなら欲しいと思い、「PERCUSSION」を購入。
当初の目的であるハンドクラップ音は、１種類だけ取り込めるユーザーサンプルに自分で入れました。
正直なところ「パッド１つだけで２万円は高い」と最初は思いましたが、作りが堅牢なこと、個人的にたまにしか出番がないツリーチャイム、チャイナシンバル、カウベル等々を実物で揃えていくと２万円ではとても済まない、と思い直し納得しました。

便利だけど・・・

音的には色々あって便利だけど・・・
小さい割に重たい
持ち運びに便利そうだけどアタッチメントやその他の周辺機器も入れるとかなりの重量で鞄で持ち運ぶのが嫌になる

多彩でお手軽で、便利。

ウインドチャイムとカウベルが欲しくて、単体で揃える事と比較検討していましたが、持ち物が1つになる事と、複数のパーカッションセッティングに時間も物理的にも（ハードウエアももちろん増えるので）かかる事、加えて、これならユーザーで作った音源が1つだけですが登録できる事で、最終的にこちらを選びました。
カウベルは、ピッチを変えることで、ドンピシャの音を探せますし、便利です。
乾電池でも対応できるのも嬉しいですね。
ドラムってライブなどでは後ろの方ですし、コンセントは大抵壁とかで離れてるので、パットから電源ケーブルが届かなくて無理・・なんていう心配もないです。延長使えば良いでしょうけれど、じゃまっけですよね。
固定についてですが、取付金具が意外と重いのでシンバルスタンドなどにアタッチメントを使ってするのが良いと思います。
ただし、カウベルなどの軽量物を固定するものでは、やや心配になるかもです。
取付金具も自由度という点ではやや難があります。
まず、本体と金具はパット裏面で蝶ネジで取り付けるのですけど電池交換の際は金具を外す必要があります。
また本体と取付金具は付ける向きが左右のどちらかしか選択できないので、気を付けてください。
接続ですが、ケーブルはストレート+Ｌのフォンフォンで繋いでいますが、これはちょっと失敗。
なぜなら、本体裏で取り付け金具とケーブルが干渉しやすいので、ストレート+ストレートのケーブルの方が良いですね。
総じて、普段の楽曲にちょっと味をつけるのにもってこいで、お勧めです。
