■Unlike conventional recorders, the OCTAPAD features a revolutionary phrase loop function designed not for recording but for real-time performance. By simultaneously utilizing three KITs, you can record overlapping performances, mute specific sounds, replace performances, and adjust effects in real time to freely evolve phrases. The phrase loop function offers endless possibilities to inspire your creativity.
■The OCTAPAD incorporates Roland's V-Drums technology and know-how cultivated over many years, featuring newly designed rubber pads with excellent sensing capabilities. With a wide dynamic range from soft to hard strikes, you can play the latest built-in percussion/drum sounds with rich expression. The OCTAPAD's rubber pads provide a pleasant feel and quiet operation. They also prevent crosstalk between pads, greatly enhancing the instrument's reliability.
■ The OCTAPAD features 670 newly developed percussion/drum sounds. Simply select from a wide variety of kits to create a wide range of performances suited to various musical scenes. The layer function allows you to layer sounds to create richer tones, or switch, fade, or crossfade between different tones depending on the strength of your strikes. By utilizing the layer function and eight instrument parameters, you can create sounds that are completely different from the original. Furthermore, 30 multi-effects tuned to percussion/drum sounds are powerful for creating unique sounds. Instantly create the sounds you imagine using just the OCTAPAD. Equipped with ambience, equalizer, and limiter, you can create sounds that match the image of the song or the performance scene.
■The OCTAPAD is equipped with four trigger inputs as expansion trigger inputs. It also supports V-Pad and V-Cymbal, which use mesh pads, allowing for more expressive performances, such as rim shots and different cymbal strikes. Hi-hat control pedals such as the FD-8 and V-Hi-Hat VH-11 can also be connected. By adding the KD-8 and FD-8, you can create a compact drum set centered around the OCTAPAD.
