The Fireface UFX+ is a new flagship interface that combines the flexibility of 94 channels of input and output that can be controlled freely, connectivity with other peripheral devices, and stability thanks to its proprietary driver, as well as DURec (Direct USB Recording) it is a new flagship interface that brings together the best of RME technology. In addition to being the first Fireface series to feature MADI (providing 30 more channels of input and output than the Fireface UFX), it also features more powerful DSP, USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt connectivity, support for a new remote controller (ARC USB), and other functions that will become the reference for future Fireface series.

■Main Features

The Fireface UFX+ can function as a host for large-scale digital-to-analog conversion systems that include not only RME but also third-party AD/DA converters, thanks to its MADI interface. The channels provided by multiple MADI devices can be routed and mixed freely and arbitrarily. When connected to a PC via USB 2, the Fireface UFX+ functions as an audio interface with 30 channels (12 analog, 16 ADAT, 2 AES) other than MADI, but the 64-channel MADI input/output can be routed internally via TotalMix FX, allowing you to use it without going through a DAW or other software. The Word Clock port (BNC) can also be switched to use as a MADI coaxial port, and there is also a 'split' mode that uses 32 channels each of MADI optical and coaxial.

◎DURec (Direct USB Recording)
The DURec on the front panel of the Fireface UFX+ has evolved into the second generation. USB compatibility has been enhanced, and it is now possible to use low-speed USB memory sticks and drives with multiple partitions. The maximum number of recordable channels has been expanded to 76, and it is possible to record all of the Fireface UFX+'s 12-channel analog inputs and 64-channel MADI inputs as interleaved WAV files. DURec, which allows multi-channel recording even without a PC, is extremely useful in live recording situations where you want to keep the number of pieces of equipment to a minimum.

◎TotalMix FX
Since its introduction in 2001, TotalMix FX has characterized RME audio interfaces with its unique functionality, allowing you to create as many completely independent sub-mixes as you like. Furthermore, with models equipped with DSP, all effect processing is carried out within the Fireface itself, so it does not place any load on the computer's CPU.

◎Class-Compliant Mode & TotalMix FX for iPad
The Fireface UFX+ can be used as an audio interface for iPad by switching to Class-Compliant (CC) mode. TotalMix for iPad is an app that allows you to use the extensive mixing functions of TotalMix FX when using it with iPad.
